Go to the ApplyTexas website at www.applytexas.org
Once on the ApplyTexas site, you will create an account (unless you have created one before):
The first step in the process is creating your profile. So, fill in all the questions on this page:
Click on the Get
started link here
Once all questions have been completed and a password created, click on I’m not a robot and Save Profile:
The system will notify you if there are any errors. It might ask you to certify your address. Simply scroll to the
address section and click on the certify button. Once done, you will see a screen that looks like this:
The next steps will be critical to guaranteeing that you are applying as a Dual Credit
student, so please follow them exactly.
To start your application, click on create a new application now:
You are NOT done!! Click
on go to My Applications
to continue.
It is critical that you select a 2 year college application and nothing else to be a dual credit student:
Most NEISD high schools use San Antonio College (SAC) for our academic Dual Credit Courses. Thus, you will
select SAC as the Target College (we are under the South Region) and continue:
For the semester, you will select the Fall (Aug – Dec) 2019 and regular deadline then continue:
For the School, you can use Creative and Communication Arts or something related to your endorsement
(this has nothing to do with your future college plans) and continue:
For the Major, you must select Dual Credit (this has nothing to do with your endorsement or future college
plans) and continue:
You are now ready to complete the 5 pages (biographical information, educational background, educational
information, residency information, and custom questions) of the application:
The system has now assigned you an ApplyTexas Application ID# that you need to keep for your records.
Scroll down and first complete your biographical information:
Questions 2, 3, 6, & 7 are prepopulated from the profile information that you provided when you began your
ApplyTexas. So, just review the information. Question 8 is for military families only. Questions 9 – 13 are
also prepopulated. So, just review the information. Question 14 is about your Family’s Educational
background and is optional if you do not know the answers. Questions 15 – 16 are also prepopulated from the
profile information. Answer the Texas Conservatorship question, then review and save changes.
SAC uses the SS# to help
identify their students, so
please provide it.
The next page is asking you to confirm a few things and then save:
Second, complete your educational background:
For Question 1 look up your high school and select. Enter your graduation date as June and the year that you
would complete high school. Answer No to being home schooled. Question 2 is not applicable.
Question 3 is asking about colleges you have attended, so you can skip this question (unless you have been in
Dual Credit already and then list San Antonio College). Question 4 the answer is No. Then save your changes.
Third, complete your educational information and save changes:
Use the exact answers
listed to the following 3
questions.
Fourth, complete the residency information:
Save and continue to the remainder of the residency questions. The rest of the residency questions can be
challenging, so make sure and have your parents assist you if you do not know the answers. If you answer
any of these questions wrong, you could create a residency hold on your application.
You do not file as an
independent, you are
going to be a dependent.
So, answer No to the 1st
question and Yes to the
2nd question.
Question 1 is Yes for most
students;
Question 2 is Yes;
Question 3 is based on how long
you have lived in Texas and most
families are here to
establish/maintain a home;
Save and continue to the next question.
Question 4 is for military families
only and should be answered
Reset for anyone else;
Question 5a is Yes for families
that own their home or No for
families that rent;
Question 5b is No unless your
family owns their own business;
Question 6a is Yes for most
families;
Question 6b is No for most
families;
Question 7 is Yes for most
families;
Question 7a is just selecting a
reason, which will be owns
property or gainfully
employed for most families;
Question 7b is based on how
long your parents have been
married
The next page will have you review your answers to all the residency questions. Once you have reviewed them,
hit save page and continue with application.
Finally, complete the custom questions for this institution:

The last page is the certification and payment information. This does not apply to Dual Credit students, so
simply click on the boxes to generate the check mark and then hit save and proceed to application
submission at the bottom of the page.

This is the last page, you will see. Confirm that it is for San Antonio College for Fall of 2019 and then submit.
You will receive a page that states you have successfully submitted your application.
