Mission Statement
Dear boys and girls, today we scientists are going to inform you about universe, the food that was given by animals, building blocks of life and cancer. However, didn’t you realize something: they are related. This is why our discussion this time gathered all these subject together. So it really is the time to move, it is the time to start changing. I say so because the problem in this world are increasing. We all have the same rights and the same goals in life so, let us see it for what is worth. Therefore, the first thing we should do is protect our only planet which is mother earth. By protecting her because it is our only place of survival, we will have a better life and diseases like cancer will start to decrease. The animals we eat should have a healthy life just like us, because if we eat them while they have problems, we will be a lot less healthier and we will pay a lot of money for medial research: just like cancer. This is why start to change
1) Universe and earth
BOYS AND GIRLS, ARE YOU INTERESTED IN KNOWING WHAT THE UNIVERSE AND EARTH ARE? IF YOUR ANSWER IS YES THEN MY ADVICE TO YOU IS BUCKLE YOUR SEAT BELTS AS THIS WILL BE A SPECTACULAR JOURNEY WHERE I WILL TAKE YOU ACROSS ALL THE THINGS MENTIONED ABOVE. HOLD ON TIGHT AS WE ARE GOING TO TAKE YOU 13.8 BILLION YEARS AGO WHERE IT ALL STARTED. READY, SET GO!!!
The big bang
Hey kids, my name is big bang! Funny name isn’t? in brief, it means big explosion. I was born 13.8 billion years ago, and its because of me that everything was created such as the space, the universe, the stars and the planets. Before me there was nothing: all the things I mentioned were non-existent. I am no longer present between you but it is because of me that you kids are here today so I can tell you that I am very important. Keep that in mind! If it seems interesting to you follow me to learn more: our next landing will be at the sun.
The sun
Let me introduce myself: my name is sun. I was born 4.6 billion years ago. You can see me if you look up in the sky you will find me
in the solar system. Over there the temperature is really hot: 5500 degree
Celsius and I am really big. 109 planet earth can fit inside of me. I am really important
because I provide the light so without me you will be living in the dark. I also help plants to grow beside of water so it gives you the food
and vegetables you are eating.
This is what
the sun looks like!
Fun facts about the sun
the sun will be one day about the same size of the
earth.
The distance between sun and earth is between 147 and
152 million
km
The sun is almost a perfect sphere
The light from the sun takes 8
minutes to reach the spere
There is a lot you can learn about the sun!
fun isn’t it?
Planets facts: Mercury
Mercury takes 59 days to make a rotation but only 88 days to circle the sun. it is the planet closest to the sun and astronomers believe that this planet might be the core of a much larger planet.
Venus
Venus is the brightest planet in our sky and can sometimes be seen with the naked eye if you know where to look. It is the solar system's brightest planet -- yellow clouds of sulfuric acid reflect the sun's light.
Earth
This is the most important planet because this is where you live! Lucky you. It is the only planet that has an atmosphere containing 21 percent oxygen. It is the only planet that has liquid water on its surface. It is the only planet in the solar system that has life.
Jupiter
Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system: more than a thousand earth’s can fit in it.
Ringed planets
You may wonder what is a ringed planet? I know it might be a little weird. Let me tell you. A ringed planet is a planet that has a ring around it. Very simple as soon as you understand. Saturn is the most obvious ringed planet but we also have Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune but they are less obvious!
2) Benefits of some food and drinksA) Meat
The importance of meat in our bodies
Many of us kids do not like meat. I agree because we prefer French fries, ice cream and pizza. But actually meat is very important to eat because it is an excellent source of protein. Protein is necessary for many reasons: it is good for the skin, hair, blood, muscles and it improves memorization. So if you want to get a good grade in your next exam, eat meat boys and girls.
Meat and the vitamins
Meat contains vitamins. Yes this sounds weird because we think that vitamins only exist in fruits and vegetables. However, surprisingly, Meat is a particularly good source of vitamin E and B vitamins including B2, B6 and B12. Vitamin E is responsible for repairing damaged muscles while B vitamins all work together to help converting food into energy.
But be aware of danger
As we told you earlier meat is very important. But be careful kids, consuming a big quantity of meat might be very dangerous. Meat is high in fats. I don’t think you want to get fat especially at your young age. So be wise and eat meat when your parents tell you so.
B) Milk
The first thing that you need to know about milk, is that it comes from cows. Read carefully what we said about milk because it is important.
Follow me for more knowledge about milk
Milk contains calcium
Calcium in a simplified definition means the material which the body uses to build strong bones. In other words, we really need to build our bodies effectively because calcium starts to decrease by age, especially in women. This means that if you do not have the enough calcium in your body, you will not be able to walk well or play sport or do anything
Additionally, if you don’t have enough calcium in your bones, this will increase the risk that you may have fractures from your weakened bones. Calcium will affect your teeth and as a result your teeth will start falling because of the lack of calcium in your body. So if you don’t want your teeth to fall, and of you want it to look white and bright drink milk. Another essential point is that there is a calcium for your blood (calcium blood). It plays a crucial role in ensuring that nervous and muscles work properly. However, when you do not have enough blood calcium, your body starts to take from you bones calcium which will lead to all the risks we have mentioned before.
So, do you still insist on not drinking your milk every day? Will you be capable of not walking or playing with your friends? So my children we need to start changing our life style and try to drink milk on daily basis. Start today and try to drink only one cup of milk to enjoy better and healthier life. Remember, one cup of milk a day keeps he doctor away
3) Building blocks of life: cells
What do you think the word “cells” mean ? A cell is the building block of life, in which it is the smallest unit of
a living thing. All living things are made of cells. You are made of cells.
There are some living things made up of just one cell. However, most living thing, such as animals and plants are made of many cells. Your pet for example, is made of thousands, millions, even billions of cells.
Cells have a particular job to do inside a living thing. It may help a living thing to stay healthy or get energy to grow, develop and reproduce. Other cells help the living thing to move and react to the environment.
Because cells are very small and hard to see, scientists use a microscope to study and observe cells. It is a tool that makes objects look larger than they really are.
Hello, my name is microscope and you will in the future, when you
go to high school, use me to see very small things
4) Deadly disease: cancer. Be careful youth
Cancer is a term used to refer to a physiological disease in which abnormal cells divide at an uncontrollable rate creating a tumor.
A tumor, also known as Neoplasm, is an abnormal amount of tissues that can be either solid or liquid.
Although many people have cancer around the world, it is considered to be a rare disease. Why is that? Cancer is an epidemic disease and rare because it is not contagious
Tumor in a cell
Categories of cancer
Cancer is not just one disease; there are more than 100 types of cancer. Most of these types of cancer are named according to the organ that contains the tumor. For example, if cancer begins and a tumor is present in the liver, it is called liver cancer.
Treatments of cancer: chemotherapy and radiation
Even though cancer is a very dangerous disease, scientists and doctors have the necessary treatments.
Chemotherapy: a type of treatment for cancer, in which drugs or medicines are used to treat cancer. However, one disadvantage of chemotherapy is that it cannot distinguish between cancerous cells and normal cells. Additionally, Chemotherapy causes hair loss, fatigue and pain
Radiation: is a type of treatment for cancer, in which high-energy waves are used to kill cancerous cells and shrink tumors. This type of treatment uses x-rays, gamma ray and charged elements to kill the DNA of damaged cells. However, radiation therapy can kill both normal and cancerous cells. Therefore, this treatment must be done very carefully in order to result with fewer side effects.
Treatments of cancer: surgery
Surgery is another type of treatment for cancer. In surgery, the tumor is removed from the body along with some other healthy tissues in order to ensure that the cancer is completely removed. However, this type of treatment can be only used at the early stage of cancer, in which the tumor is only located in a certain area in the body.
How to prevent yourselves from cancer
I believe young children, that you don’t want to have cancer after what we told you about! Am I right? Than it is important to prevent this disease.
There are certain foods that reduce risk of cancer. Fruits and vegetables are able to protect person’s cells from becoming cancer. This is because fruits and vegetables such as apples or carrots contain a large amount of folic acids and fibers that protect cells from cancer.
Food that causes cancer
Artificial Food dyes contain many chemicals that are dangerous for human body, in which it causes cancer. Many products that kids like and think it taste good, contain artificial food dyes.
Examples of these products include: Pop Tarts Fruit Snacks
Jam filled cereal bars : they look colorful and appealing, but did you every think about the harmful ingredients that made them so colorful.
Cheetos, Chipsy, Pringles, etc Teddy Grams
