PRINCIPAL WRITES
PARENT OPINION SURVEY
‘THANK YOU’ to the 68 parents who have returned the Parent Survey they received last week. Our
office staff need to mail the completed surveys to the Department of Education by the end of this week,
so if you haven’t returned it to school yet, it would be greatly appreciated if you could do this as soon as
possible. Students who return the survey to school receive a bee token.

AFTER SCHOOL COMMUNITY SPORTS
A small team of staff have done an amazing job planning and organising our ‘brand new’ After School
Community Sports Program. The response from our families has been extremely positive with the P – 2
program and the Grade 3 – 6 program being oversubscribed. The focus for the sports program this term is
‘Athletics’ and students are having fun using the running track around our new soccer field.
We have a number of students on a ‘waiting list’ and if they don’t access the program this term. They
will be the first selected for the program next term.
The program is free to students at our school and will continue in Term 4.
100 DAYS of SCHOOL
The students and staff in our Prep Team celebrated their first 100 days of school last Wednesday. This
included dressing up in clothes and costumes that represented numbers, dancing in a parade and
participating in a range of maths activities based around the number: 100. This special day ended with a
lovely class party.
FAMILY MATHS NIGHT
We had another very successful Family Maths Night that involved 38 students across Grades 4 – 6 and
their parents. The use of the Grade 5 / 6 building proved ideal and the three activities progressed with
great efficiency. We appreciate the excellent leadership of Mr Nundlall and Miss Pomfret who organised
and coordinated this special event, as well as the generous spirit of teachers in the Maths Program Team
who prepared and facilitated engaging activities and remained at school until 7:30pm.
Some parents enjoyed the evening so much, they have requested that it occur every term!!
PLAY GROUP at BELLBRIDGE
Our first session of Play Group was a wonderful success with eight parents and 12 pre-schoolers/toddlers
attending. They will continue to meet every Thursday morning between 8:30 – 10:30am in the Out of
School Hours Care rooms. We are very proud of the initial success of this great community initiative.
CADBURY CHOCOLATE DRIVE
We really appreciate the wonderful support our families have given to the annual Cadbury Chocolate
Fundraiser. A number of parents have requested extra boxes to sell and this can be done by contacting
the Office staff and placing your name on a waiting list. The Office staff will contact you when a box
becomes available.
ALL BOXES and/or MONEY NEED TO BE SENT TO THE OFFICE BY THIS FRIDAY,
AUGUST 8TH.

ASTHMA FORMS
There are a still a large number of Asthma Plans outstanding. For any child who suffers from
Asthma, the school must have an action plan in your child’s file in case of an emergency. If you have
not sent an action plan to school please send it to school as soon as possible. It is important that we have
this information on hand so as we can assist your child effectively.

holidays). Each week the children will participate in activities, free and directed play, enjoy a snack
together and explore the playground (weather permitting). The playgroup is currently full, however if
