Angel Tree Program 2019: We will still have some families that will have their children on forms like we had last year. New this
year is what is called the Affordable Christmas. In addition to handing out
angel tree forms we will be collecting toys and other items the weekends of:
Nov.10th AND 17th. (The Angel Tree will be available beginning Nov. 9th). It is felt that this program will allow the parents to feel that they are truly giving
their child a Christmas present. I ask for your support this year so that Saint James does its part in bringing a
Merry Christmas to the children of Hardin County.
God Bless You, Deacon Karl
Please join us for All Souls Day Mass at Saint James Cemetery on Saturday,
November 2nd at 10:00 a.m. A brunch in Batcheldor Hall will follow.
All are welcome, especially those who have lost loved ones in the past year.
*Please note there will be no 8:00 a.m. Mass Nov. 2.

www.sjschoolonline.org Crosses representing the cemetery of the unborn will be erected on the lawn of Dr. and Mrs. Godfrey again this year. Volunteers are needed to help install the crosses
on Saturday, November 2nd starting at 12 Noon. This will allow volunteers to attend the 10 a.m.
Requiem Mass at Saint James Cemetery. Volunteers are asked to please bring a Philips head
screwdriver, flat blade screwdriver and rubber mallet, if able. We expect to have approximately 2500
crosses to install. Their positions will be marked ahead of time. Please plan to dress appropriately
for the weather.
Parishioners who were unable to sign up for the Right to Life newspaper ad at the Church during the first two weekends of this month will be able to do so at the
Church Office for the next few weeks. The ad will be published in the Elizabethtown News Enterprise on or
about January 22nd, the infamous date of the U.S. Supreme Court’s lamentable Roe v. Wade ruling.
A $5 donation is suggested in order to add a person’s or family’s name to that newspaper page.
Some give more. No one is refused regardless of their inability to donate. The donations are used to pay for
the newspaper page and to support the activities of the Kentucky Right to Life Heartland in its Pro-Life
efforts. Please add your name and support to this newspaper page advocating the Right To Life.

Endurance runners need a great deal of perseverance. They cannot expend all their energy at the beginning or they won’t be able to complete the race. Nor can they
run the race without the proper training, fuel and clear direction as to the route. We, too, need a tremendous
amount of perseverance to run a race of good faith. Prepared by sacraments, fueled by grace and
headed toward Jesus, we can reach the kingdom.
“I tell you that he will bring about justice for
them quickly. However, when the Son of Man
comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
Luke 18:8
Where would Jesus find faith in today’s world?
Faith is present wherever there are
acts of good stewards.

AROUND & ABOUT
Made for More Follow-up - Theology of the Body Overview – Holy Family Parish
October 22 – (7:00 – 9:00PM) Theology of the Body Answers the Ultimate Questions of Life: "Where do we come from?" "Where are we going?" "What is our origin?" "What is our end?"
"Where does everything that exists come from and where is it going?" The two questions, the first about
the origin and the second about the end, are inseparable. They are decisive for the meaning and
orientation of our life and actions. (CCC 282).
