Workshop Learning Outcome (1) Use a baseline knowledge of crash data,

crash reports and safety terminology to extract actionable information.

Execute the components of the “Safety Management Cycle” for a local agency given a variety of levels of data.

Explain the significance of the Highway Safety Manual (HSM) with respect to higher level data intensive analysis

Workshop Learning Outcome (2) Use a number of analytical techniques of

varying complexity to determine safety countermeasures.

Outline the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations of analytical techniques.

Effectively use published crash reduction factors (CRFs) or crash modification factors (CMFs)
