INVITATION TO LAPSED CATHOLICS AND
WELCOMING THEIR RETURN - WE NEED YOUR
HELP - Holy Family Parish will be offering a six-week
series entitled Catholics Returning Home beginning
January 7th, 2020. The sessions are for non-practicing
Catholics who are seeking answers to questions about
returning to the Church. If you know someone who has left
the Church, please invite them to join us! Invitations to
give or mail to your friends or family members will be
available after Mass on weekends, or through Lisa in the
Parish Office. We all know people we hope will return. We
pray that we will help them discover the hope, joy, and
peace that the Church offers us all! THANK YOU ALL!
4TH SUNDAY OF ADVENT
We are all familiar with the story of God’s annunciation to
Mary. Today we hear the annunciation to Joseph, a story
perhaps not as well known. The angel’s message to Joseph
affects his life not just practically, letting him know that it
is alright to take Mary into his home, but also spiritually.
The baby growing in Mary’s womb, a child that Joseph is
called to protect, support, and love, is also the Promised
One, the Messiah. In Joseph we find a model for living
life in Christ in ways both large and small; from heavenly
revelations to the minutiae of household chores and
everyday family interactions. Joseph may not speak a word
in the gospels, but his actions say it all: “Yes, Lord, thy will
be done.”
Rosary Recitation - We will be reciting the rosary in
front of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s Altar the FIRST
SATURDAY of each month at 3:15 p.m. The next date
will be January 4th . Please join us!
CHRISTMAS MASS SCHEDULE
The Christmas Vigil Mass at Holy Family will be at 4 pm
on Tuesday, December 24. There will also be a Vigil Mass
that same evening at 6 pm at St. Joseph There will be one
Christmas morning Mass, at 10:30 at Holy Family.

ADVENT REFLECTION
Lord God, our saving light who came to set us free, shine
upon us in your glory. May your light provide illumination
for us so we recognize all those who need our help,
however much, however little. Keep us from straying into
the works of darkness, wipe away our tears, and grant
us your light and blessing. Amen.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Wednesday of this week is Christmas, that most Holy Day
when we celebrate the birth of the Christ Child, as God
becomes human and we learn to take on some of God’s
divinity. As we once again remember the birth of Christ,
let us vow to take Christ into our hearts, our homes, our
neighborhoods, our schools, and our places of
employment. Let us vow to carry Christ with us
wherever we go. The parish office will be closed on
Tuesday and Wednesday, December 24 and 25th .
CHRISTMAS SEASON
The birth of Jesus is an event so important, joyful, and
holy that it cannot be celebrated on just one day. The
Christmas season, which begins on Christmas Day,
continues through Sunday, January 12, the Feast of the
Baptism of the Lord. During this season we will celebrate
the feast of St. Stephen, one of the first deacons of the
church, and its first martyr. We will also celebrate
the solemnity of the Holy Family, the Solemnity of Mary,
the Mother of God, and Epiphany.
THANK YOU
Our Christmas Party was a great success. We made
$410.00 on our Basket auction which will be donated to
the Herkimer County Human Society. A thank you to all
who purchased tickets for our baskets and who helped
make our Parish Christmas Party a success.
OFFICE CLOSED - The Parish Offices will be closed
on December 24 and 25 for the Christmas Holiday.
