Science & Technology at the Centre for Atmospheric Sciences (I Semester 2013-14)
Dear Mr. Chowdhary,
1. With reference to your application for the admission to the above mentioned programme, I amglad to inform you that you have been short listed to appear for an interview in the office of Head,
Centre for Atmospheric Sciences, IIT, Delhi (Block VI, 2nd Floor). Please note the following
information.

2. Your interview is subject to producing the following information(i) Full time students are required to produce valid GATE qualified score (minimum 300 for
General and OBC (non-creamy layer) and 200 forSC/ST/PHcandidates).
(ii) All certificates and mark sheets mentioned in your application form (including GATEscore card) in original (to be returned after verification) andone photocopy of the same
(to be retained).
(iii) All candidates with M.Sc. qualifying degree must have Physics and Mathematics atB.Sc. level.
(iv) Candidates who are in the final year of their qualifying examination must produce acertificate from their institution stating that they have appeared for the final exam.
(v) If you belong to the SC/ST/PH or OBC (non-creamy layer) category, please bring theoriginal certificate with you.
(vi) Sponsored (full time or part-time) candidates are required to submit at the time ofinterview a "Sponsorship Certificate" from their employers on official letterhead stating
that for the period of his/her studies at the Institute the candidate would be treated as on
duty with usual salary and allowances, that he/she will be fully relieved for the period of
study for pursing his/her studies.
(vii) Candidates seeking admission on the basis of study leave must show proof to the effectthat they will be/have been granted study leave for the period of study at IIT Delhi.
3. Results of the interview will be declared by the evening of 23/05/2013 and displayed on theCentre's notice board. In the event of your selection, your admission will be subject to your
having secured a minimum CGPA of 6.75 (6.25 forSC/ST/PHcandidates) on a 10 point scale or
equivalent as determined by IIT Delhi or 60% (55 % forSC/ST/PHcandidates) aggregate marks
wherever only marks are awarded in the B.Tech/B.E/M.Sc. examination, held by a
Board/University, passed by you at the time of interview.

4. The offer letters are mailed to the selected candidates by the Centre's office. The candidates whowish to collect these personally may inform the Centre's office. The selected candidates would be
required to remit the institute fee of Rs. 14,385/- (Rs. 9385 for SC/ST) if hostel allotted
otherwise Rs. 11,085/-for non-hostellers (Rs. 6085/-for SC/ST) within the time stipulated in
the offer letter failing which the offer will be cancelled and the seat will be offered to the next
candidate on the panel. Hostel mess dues for fresh entry who are allotted hostel accommodationare to be paid at the time of registration which are Rs. 27,500/- for female and Rs. 28,500/- for
male students respectively.
5. After the declaration of interview results, the provisionally selected candidates may give theirrequest to the Dean of Students for hostel accommodation to the Centre's office. Please note,
however, that hostels seats are limited and it may not be possible to provide accommodation
to all (especially to those candidates whose parents/guardians/near relatives reside in Delhi) .
6. Candidates offered admission will be required to produce attested copies of the qualifying degreecertificate and marks sheet showing the required % of marks / CGPA by 23.07.2013. Candidates
who are in the final year of their qualifying examination must inform PG section, IIT Delhi in
writing by 23.07.2013, if the requirements of their qualifying degree including viva-voce, if any,are not met by 23.07.2013. Failure to inform the PG section about non-completion shall result in
forfeiture of entire fees deposited by them in addition to cancellation of their admission.
7. Candidates with AMIE, or Grad. IETE, or other equivalent professional degrees if provisionallyselected, would be required to complete 24 valid undergraduate credits prescribed by the Centre
before being actually admitted to the M. Tech programme.
8. Kindly note that TA will not be provided to any candidates.9. Candidates coming for test/interview will be provided accommodation in Vindhyachal hostel (for
male) and Kailash/Hiadri Hostel (for female). The charges are Rs.190/- per day per head forboarding and lodging in the hostel. This amount has to be deposited by way ofDemand Draft in
favour of Director, IIT Delhi A/c------------(fill the name of the hostel where you are
reporting for stay) Hostel payable at State Bank of India, Delhi. Please note that no cash will
be accepted in the hostel. You are required to bring your own lock and bedding. It may be noted
that the Caretaker in the hostel will be available during 9 a.m. - 5.30 p.m. on working days. You
are therefore requested to avoid reporting at the hostel on holidays and odd hours.
