How you would play a minor version of the 12 bar blues is simple. Just use minor chords. Generally, you would make more of an emphasis on the fact that the chords are minor by playing more than just the power chord like we were for most of the major versions.

In the video I give you some examples. Play around with using the minor barre chord shapes as well as the minor 7 barre chord shapes. If you need to refresh your memory on these, revise over the “Common Chords - Barre Chords” video in Module 2: Tools For The Blues.

If you are having trouble understanding what chords to play, revise over the I - IV - V videos in Module 2. Then watch the video at the end of this module “Playing 12 Bar Blues In Any Key” and everything will make sense.

Also remember to experiment with different rhythms to get different kinds of feel.
