Dear Leading Cosmopolitans,
Welcome to another exciting fellowship holding at our new venue –
Faarah Coffee Lounge. I hope that you are comfortable and love this
venue. Thanks to President Elect Dolapo Tella - Atoni for finding it.
Our Rotary year is off to a great start with our very first business
meeting last week and the visit on Tuesday to Eshaddai Secondary
School. Kudos to Rotarians Ifeoma, Wendy, Yvonne, Carol and all
who put together such an impactful event. We have just ticked off
two items on our Presidential citation for 2018/19 Rotary year.
Special thanks to Rotarian Ifeoma who is fast heading towards
winning our Rotarian to bring the highest member award, I hope
others fight her for the trophy, which is why today's fellowship is
looking at our club effectiveness. There is no Rotary without the
clubs and no clubs without the members. This Rotary year, we have

a commitment to make your Rotary experience and investment
worth your time. I have no doubt that Rtn Ahunna who worked on
this project with President Nominee Steady Idisi will share some
deep insights with us today.
RI has sent us our invoice. We need to make payment urgently. If
you haven't paid up your first semi annual, then you are holding
back your club. Lets do the needful.
Have you placed your advert yet and have your friends placed an
advert to congratulate your new board? Our installation is two
weeks away and a lot of our friends are storming the venue. We have
to show them the Cosmo spirit. Do not forget, we are the leaders'
club
Don't forget to bring someone to the next fellowship.
The more, the merrier.
Let's "Be the Inspiration."

Dear fellow Rotarians,
One year ago, your Rotary
International Board of Directors
adopted a new vision statement,
reflecting our aspirations for our
organization and its future. It reads,
"Together, we see a world where
people unite and take action to
create lasting change – across the
globe, in our communities, and in
ourselves."
That simple sentence distills so
much of what is essential about
Rotary. We unite, because we know
that we are far stronger together
than we could ever be alone. We
take action, because we are not
dreamers, but doers. We work to
create lasting change that will
endure long after our involvement
Rotary International President's Message for July 2018
Barry RassinPresident 2018-19, Rotary International
has ended – across the globe and in
our communities. And perhaps
most important of all, we work to
create change in ourselves – not
justbuilding a better world around
us, but becoming better people
ourselves.
A quotation attributed to French
writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
goes: "If you want to build a boat,
don't begin by collecting wood,
cutting boards, or assigning tasks.
Begin by awakening in the souls of
your workers a longing for the vast
and boundless sea." Each of us
came to Rotary because we had a
longing – to have an impact, to
make a difference, to be part of
something larger than ourselves.

That desire, that vision for a better
world and our role in building it, is
what drives us in Rotary. It's what
made us become members, it's
what motivates us to serve, and it's
what led me to choose our theme
for this Rotary year: Be the
Inspiration.
I want to see Rotary Be the
Inspiration for our communities by
doing work with a transformational
impact. It's time to start moving
forward, by removing the barriers
that are holding us back. Let's make
it easier to make adjustments in our
clubs or start new clubs that suit
different needs. Let's work to
strengthen Rotaract and smooth
the transition from Rotaract clubs
into Rotary. Let's give all Rotarians
the flexibility to serve in the ways
that work best for them, so that
every Rotarian finds enduring value
in Rotary membership.
Truly sustainable service, the kind
of service we strive for in Rotary,
means looking at everything we do
as part of a larger global ecology.
This year, I ask all of you to Be the
Inspiration for sustainable service
by addressing the impact of
environmental issues on our work.
The environment plays a key role in
all six of our areas of focus, and that
role is only becoming greater as the
impact of climate change unfolds.
It's time to move past seeing the
environment as somehow separate
from those six areas. Clean air,
water, and land are essential for
healthy communities – and
essential for the better, healthier
future we strive for.
Be the Inspiration – and together we can, and we will, inspire the world.

District Governor 2018 /2019 R.I D-9141
ADEYEMI OLADOKUN
Fellow Rotarians,
Good morning and happy new year.
It gives me great pleasure with sense of responsibility to warmly welcome you to
2018/2019 Rotary year.
On reflection, you will realise that it has taken us two and a half years to prepare for the
arrival of the year with the excellent theme BE THE INSPIRATION to which I have added a
message for our District TO BE THE INSPIRATION FOR RENAISSANCE for the Fundamental
transformation of lives in our immediate communities and the World at large.
Today, 1st day of July 2018 , we're presented with opportunities to make the second year
of our District's existence memorable neither by touching the stone nor the flower but by
touching the souls of the needy in our society.
Do you remember the 6 Areas of focus representing the critical needs of the world ?. Today
we begin a journey to solve problems of the down trodden , there are many problems to
solve. After all , we're problem solvers, people of action because Rotary is Humanity in
motion.
Just take a look around you and you will appreciate what am talking about and the need for
us to work harder to discover our inner selves.
Most of us spent the early part of our lives in our real villages. You will be surprised that
mothers still spend hours looking for water for domestic use , work endlessly daily to earn
a living which of course is never enough to sustain the family. We have a job here to
provide water for our communities and means for growth of economy , provide health
facilities, alleviate hunger and improve Humanity. After all humanity is our business.
Think of your primary school or the ones nearest your home, you will be astonished at the
District Governor’s Message for July In an effort to increase membership and
highlight Rotary's inspiring work, RI
President Barry Rassin is urging clubs and
districts to organize fun, informal
community events called Rotary Days.
"Rotary Days events will offer you the
chance to have an impact in your
community, build long-term partnerships,
increase interest in membership, and
improve Rotary's image," Rassin said.
Any club, big or small, can host a Rotary Day.
Neighboring clubs can pool their resources
and co-host an event, and entire districts
can come together for a large-scale Rotary
Day.
Tips for planning a Rotary Day:Consider
including a hands-on service project as part
of the event to let visitors see for
themselves how Rotary benefits the
community.Feature guests that appeal to a
non-Rotary audience. Consider young
leaders, inspirational speakers, celebrities,
musicians, or other public figures. If the
event will offer food, keep it simple — for
example, a self-service buffet rather than a
formal, sit-down meal.Advocate on local
issues related to Rotary's areas of focus by
calling attention to challenges that affect
people in your area.If you charge
admission, keep prices low. Ask local
businesses to sponsor your event.Welcome
families and make the event enjoyable for
Bulletin Articlethem.Present Rotary as an appealing
opportunity for potential members to make
new friends, exchange ideas, and take
action to improve their community and the
world. Avoid using Rotary jargon or
referring to club traditions.Highlight the
work of local Rotarians, Rotaractors,
Interactors, Rotary Community Corps
members, and other community members
who do extraordinary humanitarian
work.Recognize non-Rotary community
members who demonstrate Rotary's
service ideals.Sponsor an event with a
partner organization to show that, by
working together, we make a deeper and
more lasting impact on communities.Ask
local news media to cover the event.Collect
participants' contact information, and
invite them to future club events.Partner

organizations or local businesses.
During and after your event, post photos
and videos with the hashtag #RotaryDay to
social media. We'll collect photos of Rotary
Day events around the world and show
them at the 2019 Rotary International
Convention in Hamburg, Germany. Some
may also appear in Rotary media
throughout the year.
"Imagine the collective impact we can have
if all 35,000 Rotary, 10,000 Rotaract, and
22,000 Interact clubs engage their
neighbors, friends, young people, and
organizations," Rassin said.
WHY & HOW TO HOST A ROTARY DAY
sight of dilapidated buildings filled with unkempt, half-naked young fellows. sometimes the
schools are empty.
Education remains the foundation for a healthy society, best weapons against poverty. Our
world will be more stable with less illiterates.
Now and of course for the next 365 days , we, Rotarians , have the opportunity to BE THE
INSPIRATION to change things for better in our communities and around the world. We can
and we will.
The choice we make today speaks volumes tomorrow. Every child deserves a healthy and
safe childhood. Rotarians possess the power of freedom and liberation through service to
humanity.
I invite you this year to work hard and experience the thrill and joy of service. Take advantage
of every service opportunities around you and live in the heart of people for ever. My dear
friends, for heaven's sake develop yourself , aim high this Rotary year and do not forget to
enjoy Rotary. Rotary is a University of it's own, all progress are rooted in education.
Fellow Rotarians, I will like to thank you for the much you have given to The Rotary
Foundation. Your gifts presented opportunities to create enduring, meaningful changes
around the world and to children or people you may never meet. Thank you.
Remember, an APPRECIATION is an APPLICATION for more gifts to The Rotary Foundation.
We're looking for 50 MAJOR DONORS, or 500 combination of PHF, PHFSM, PHS,
BENEFACTORS. Honestly, Rotarians are already keying into this. DON'T BE LEFT OUT.
We must ALL give . 'Giving is not the exclusive right of the rich" . As Rotarians, our greatest
weapon are PASSION and COMMITMENT. Do give. Give to eradicate POLIO - the number one
priority project of The Rotary International. Time is everything, there may never be another
time to do good than now. Let's be part of this history, beckoning on us.
In accordance with Rotary Principles of Present, Future and Past, I will like to appreciate our
PDGs including the one that passed yesterday for their achievements and encourage the
future leaders to come on board.
Together, we see a World where people unite and take action to create lasting change -
across the globe, in our communities and in ourselves.
BE THE INSPIRATION for RENAISSANCE - positive fundamental transformation.
Happy New Year.
