What Is The Rocket City 100 Mile Club?

A year long program that offers RP

students and staff the opportunity to earn 100 miles of walking

or running throughout the 2013-

2014 school year.

Why Participate? •Improve Your Health•Prevent Disease•Lose Weight•Boost Your Confidence•Relieve Your Stress•Eliminate Depression •Prepare For Sports Seasons•Get Involved•Build Relationships•Have Fun!

Who Can Participate? •Any RPHS, RPMS, or RPI Student•Any RP Staff Member•Any RP Community Member

When Can RPI Students Participate?

•Every Monday and Wednesday Afternoon 3:00-3:30 pm

•Every Monday and Wednesday Morning Walk With Friends

7:15-7:35 am

•Sign Up: On Tuesday, August 27th at RPI Open House 5-8 pm

When Can RPMS Students Participate?

•Every Monday and Wednesday Afternoon 2:50-3:20 pm

•Possible Monday and Wednesday Morning 7:00-7:25 am

•Sign Up: At lunch during the month of September

When Can RPHS Students Participate?

•Every Monday and Wednesday Afternoon 3:00-3:30 pm

•Possible Monday and Wednesday Morning 7:15-7:35 am

•During Strength Training PE Classes

•Sign Up: On Tuesday, September 10th at RPHS Open House 5-8

How Much Does It Cost To Participate ?

•$ 10 Participation fee which includes a T-shirt upon 25 mile completion

•Fee is waived for free-reduced lunch students•Prizes at the 25 mile mark, 50 mile mark, and 75 mile

mark. •All 100 Mile Earners Will Receive A Gold Medal

•Additional raffles to win an iPod, iPad, gift cards, or running shoes.

Alternative Ways To Earn Miles? •25 miles = Completion of one school sponsored sport

•Limit to three school sports = 75 miles

•10 miles = Completion of one club sport

•Potential Physical Education credit opportunity to

earn miles during class

•5 miles = 5k race
