ROBERT SWANN IN JSSIS
JSSIS, DUBAI has come up with the innovative idea of JSS talks.
The mission of JSS talk is to inspire, challenge, provoke thoughts and to evoke awe and wonder.
The JSSIS is proud to invite Mr. Robert Swann, one of the world’s great Polar explorer,
prominent environmentalist and a remarkable motivational speaker to inaugurate JSS Talks.
Mr. Robert Swann is the brand ambassador for the ‘Mind pillar’ of JSSIS Leadership
Program.
He would be inspiring the teachers, students and the parents on 23rd November 2015 at 10:00 am
in JSSIS School auditorium, Al Barsha, Dubai with his motivational talks about his experiences
during his expeditions to Antarctic and Arctic poles.
WHO IS ROBERT SWAN?
Robert Swan OBE: "The Greatest Threat to Our Planet Is the Belief That Someone Else Will Save It"
Antarctica has been described as "a silence deep with a breath like sleep." Some say that the continent's
profound beauty haunts you for the rest of your days. One man who understands this better than most is,
polar explorer turned environmentalist, Robert Swan OBE.
Mr. Robert is an exceptionally gifted communicator. Swan’s unique insights and lessons learned have
enabled him to educate and stimulate young people and business leaders all around the world.
He compares his icy experiences to boardroom maneuvers. His inspirational addresses on leadership and
teamwork have received acclaim from discerning audiences worldwide.
In 1986, he made the longest unassisted walk ever to the South Pole. Three years later he went onto the
North Pole and by the age of 33, he became first person in history to walk to both North and South Pole.
His contributions to education and environment have been recognized on an international scale, seen
through his appointment as United Nations Goodwill Ambassador for Youth and Special Envoy to the
Director General of UNESCO. He was awarded the high distinction of OBE, Officer of the Order of the
British Empire, as well as the Polar Medal by Her Majesty.
He spends most of his time lecturing around the globe to drum up support for the Antarctic -- he wants it to
avoid the same fate as its northern sister the Arctic, which is currently being fought over for its natural
resources.
Since 2003, he has led annual expeditions to Antarctica with students and business executives, to focus on
leadership training, environmental clean-up and education initiatives.
The ‘Inspire Antarctic Expedition’ teams helped design and build the world’s first renewable energy
Education Station in Antarctica, called the E-Base.
Robert has an extraordinary ability to thrill, uplift and inspire from his experiences the young minds who
are the leaders of tomorrow.
