• The mauri (life-supporting capacity) of the rivers, streams and wetlands is protected throughout the catchments.
• Our waterbodies are enhanced and protected from contaminants.
• Water allocation is managed
sustainably for in-stream and out of stream values.
Strategic Plan Outcomes
Biodiversity • The health of the Kaimai
Mamaku Forest Park is restored – bring back the birds.
• The indigenous biodiversity beyond the forest park is enhanced.
Strategic Plan Outcomes People
• People understand and appreciate the multiple values of the Kaimai Mamaku catchments.
• The Tauranga Moana and Waihou River catchments
are sustainably managed to contribute to the environmental, cultural, economic and social well-being of the Bay of Plenty and Waikato communities.
• People understand and practice sustainable land
and water management (including biodiversity).
