• RIGHT OF WAY• Means to HAVE
immediate use of the roadway
• The person with the RIGHT OF WAY goes first
• YIELD• Means to GIVE UP
immediate use of the roadway
• The person who YIELDS waits for traffic to pass before proceeding

• NO!• The white and black signs are REGULATORY.
They are the legal speed limit for that road• Yellow and Black signs may also have a speed
limit written on it. They are ADVISORY SPEED LIMITS
Advisory Speed Limits give the SUGGESTED speed for a particular stretch of road.
SECOND QUESTION…If you choose NOT to follow the advisory limit and you are in a
crash, will you be given a ticket for speeding?
ANSWER:No, the legal speed limit is the
white and black sign. However, you will be ticketed for reckless
