Lessons Learned

Student engagement is critical to student success.

Having full-time faculty interested in working with first-year students who need skills for college success is key.

Early and consistent intervention for non-attending students using MineOnline email and retention contribution information can help more students successfully complete the class.

Plans for the Future

Propose SCL-1003 to Curriculum Committee in hopes of Fall 2011 implementation.

Expand cooperative learning training for Success faculty and add cooperative learning activities to instructor resources.

Continue to recruit full-time faculty to teach the course.
