Luminous MysteriesReflected on Thursdays

Moving on from the infancy and the hidden life in Nazareth to the public life of Jesus, our contemplation brings us to those mysteries which may be called in a special way “mysteries of light”. Certainly the whole mystery of Christ is a mystery of light. He is the “light of the world” (Jn 8:12). Yet this truth emerges in a special way during the years of his public life, when he proclaims the Gospel of the Kingdom....  Each of these mysteries is a revelation of the Kingdom now present in the very person of Jesus.     ..... Pope John Paul II

1st Luminous Mystery

The Baptism:Jesus is baptized in the River Jordan.

2nd Luminous Mystery

The Wedding at Cana:The Self-Manifestation of Our Lord

at the Wedding at Cana.

3rd Luminous Mystery

The Proclamation of the Kingdom:Christ’s announcement of

the Kingdom of God.

4th Luminous Mystery

The Transfiguration:The transfiguration of Our Lord

revealing more about Jesus.

5th Luminous Mystery

The Institution of the Eucharist:Jesus gave himself to His own under

the appearance of bread and wineat the Last Supper.

God, Our Father, we praise you for your greatness.

We thank you for calling us to be your sons and daughters.

Let your light shine on us so that we may see and understand your gospel values

and grow in Faith, Hope and love.

Through the intercession of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop and St Patrick, let us

not be afraid to speak out for what is right, and let our learning be guided by your Holy Spirit so that all in our school will be empowered today for tomorrow’s

world, wherever that may take us.

We make this prayer through Christ Our Lord

Amen
