RESEARCH AND PLANNING

• Research and planning deals with all aspects of development, production and marketing with regards to a product. It is important that the product is developed. Produced and marketed to consumers in a good way so that the consumers invest in the product and therefore make it profitable.

• The research could be done through carrying out questionnaires and using past films to find out what films sell the most as well as what genre the film will be so they can release the film at a specific time so that the film sells well.

WHAT IS RESEARCH AND PLANNING?

• When making a horror film the research and planning stages are vital to creating the finished product. Firstly film companies need to plan who their target audience will be so that the product sells, they will need to create a plot in way that it attracts the target audience as well as, how much will the film cost to make and who will invest in it, what locations will be used, what actors to use, what props will be used, create a production schedule, plan effects and create a storyboard and shot list.
