Pearson-Page, 10-12, Cecil Street,Birmingham (1907), Ilene Works, SherlockStreet, Birmingham, then Pearson PageJewsbury, then Peerage, manufacturers ofreproduction and original copper andbrassware during 1910s-1930s. Productionwas intended to be good quality periodreproductions and was not generally marked.This rare mark is found on some of theirdesigns.
Pearson Page Jewsbury Co Ltd., SohoWorks, later Westwood Works, WestwoodRoad, Witton, Birmingham 6, (not to beconfused with Boulton's Soho Manufactory.Jewsbury was originally founded 1883. TheCompany took over Pearson Page designswhen they were liquidated in 1933. This photofrom a patent money box supplied by LorenzoCaira.
Pearson, Page, Newton & Minchew Ltd. OfErnest Street, Holloway Head, Birmingham,brassfounders. Several good designs for brasssouvenirs were registered during the early1900s but no examples of a maker's mark havebeen found.
Peerage Brass Successor to Pearson Pagebrand name c!946 onwards and generally usedfor original designs but also on reproductions.Trade Mark registered to Pearson PageJewsbury, Dulverton Road, Witton,Birmingham 6. Peerage Brass were later atSharston Road, Wythenshaw, Manchester M224TH. but are possibly not trading. Trade markmay have lapsed in 1991.
Note: said to be reproductions ofantique brass table bells. If so, whereare the originals? Nobody knows, andfew have been identified. Many of thesmaller figures were also used on otheiitems - letter openers, toasting forks,ashtrays, etc. Other figural bells areknown to exist, using bases like #1172(Loma Doone and #2914 Peasant Girl.
