EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Extra Curricular Activities help in honing “Soft Skills” that relate directly to social
interaction, time management, public relations and community service. Students who excel
in Academic and Extra Curricular Activities have a greater sense of achievement that will
propel them to greater heights and success in their education and career. Practically
speaking, participating in these activities looks good on job applications & shows the
employers that one is a well rounded & responsible individual. So by interspersing
academics with an Extra Curricular Activity-be it a sport, a club, society or community
work- one can refresh oneself & be better able to focus on one’s work!
With this end in view, a number of activities such as Talent Hunt, Inter College & Intra
College Quizzes, Debates, Declamations, Folk Song & Poetry Recitation competitions were
held in the college during this session.
Many dignitaries were invited to interact & share their specialized knowledge & expertise
with the students. It is a matter of honour for the college to place their names on record.

TOWARDS HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT
In holistic education, the teacher is seen less as a person of authority who leads and
controls and more as a friend, a mentor and a facilitator. Institutions should be places
where students and pedagogues towards mutual goals. Thus, the reward of a holistic

VISION
42
We have become the first college in the area to have State of the Art teaching facilities in
the form of Smart Class Rooms and a four-storied IT block equipped with latest
technological infrastructure. The New Information Technology Block was inaugurated on
January 9, 2012 by Mr. K.K. Sharma, Advisor to the Administrator, Union Territory,
Chandigarh. The college is likely to usher in an era of not only making the college tech
savvy but will also encourage tie ups with related industries/ institutions of higher
learning at the national and international level with the help of the facilities available in the
IT Block. The IT block is fully A. C. with four computer labs fully equipped with latest
technology & Nebero internet software management solutions, Conference Room, Video
Studio, Skill Development Lab, Multipurpose Hall , Placement and Career Unit & twelve
teaching rooms. It is worthwhile to mention that there are special facilities for physically
handicapped students in the block. The Chandigarh administration has cleared all decks
for the installation of a Lift in the block which would be first of its kind in an institution of
higher learning.
The college would initiate academic endeavour for the introduction of various courses as
per demand of the global market in the area of Cyber Crime , Animation , Web Designing,
Information Technology, e-Governance , e-Learning and e-Business as these courses have
great potential of employability in the Indian and global academic market.
However, the vision of the college as a self-sufficient institution will remain
unfulfilled until some more facilities like
A new Hostel Block
Advanced Science Block
Swimming pool
Extended parking area
Underground parking
Additional housing units for non-teaching staff
are not added to the existing infrastructure.

The earlier sanctioned capital projects i.e. the Auditorium and the Gymnasium are under
construction and we are thankful to Chandigarh Administration for their whole hearted
cooperation.

We gladly acknowledge the guidance and unflinching support, which has brought about
major improvements in the infrastructural facilities of our institute. Thanks to an initiative
from the Administration, we are having special Personality Development classes for our
students in order to hone their communication skills and enhance their confidence. Credit
for these giant leaps goes to the handsome financial support that we have been receiving
