- What happened? (ITALY) In 1949, King Charles VIII invaded
Italy, this triggered numerous wars in which France and Spain fight
for total control over the Italian Peninsula Several Popes and
England became involved fighting cumulated in the sack of Rome by
Spaniard & holy Roman Emperor Charles V in 1527

- What happened? (Germany) Peasants became unhappy with the high
taxes and a lack of power. These factors caused the Peasants War.
Charles V was determined to turn things around. Luther was accused
of unrest. In 1546 he began a war against Lutheran preaches. Peace
of Augsburg was signed in 1555.

- Who was involved? King Charles VIII- Invaded Italy in 1949.
France and Spain- Fought for control of the Italian peninsula.
England- England eventually became involved as did several popes.

Rome by the Spaniard and Holy Roman Emperor Charles V. Europe-
Credited with expanding Italian Renaissance throughout Europe. King

- Who was involved? Martin Luther- Was accused of being unrest
and wrote about peasants that they, rob and rage and act like mad
dogs. Italy- in 1949, when King Charles VIII invaded Italy, it
triggered many wars Germany- Had religious conflicts between
Catholicism and Lutheranism. Princes of Germany- Had the decision
of what religion he wanted his subjects to preach. King Henry of
Navarre- Ended all fighting when he became a Catholic led to
political stability by encouraging Catholics to accept him as King.

- How does this event show religious disunity in Europe? Italy
During the Counter Reformation in Italy, there was many wars and
corruption over who gains control of the Italian Peninsula. When
king Charles VIII invaded he caused religious disunity because of
the wars he triggered that got popes and Europe involved in the
fight for control of the Italian Peninsula. Germany Luther made
things a big controversy by starting Lutheranism. Charles V and
Martin Luther fought about the Counter Reformation on which
religion princes should choose for there people to believe in. The
two religions were Lutheranism and Catholicism.
