Take note of safety instructions for Ex applications
Please note theEx specific safety informationwhich you can find on our homepagewww.vega.com/downloads under "Approvals" andwhich
comes with every instrument. In hazardous areas you should take note of the corresponding regulations, conformity and type approval
certificates of the sensors and power supply units. The sensors must only be operated on intrinsically safe circuits. The permissible electrical
values are stated in the certificate.
30143-EN-140402
1 Product description
In continuous level measurement, the level in a vessel is detected. The
measured value is further processed e.g. as 4 … 20 mA in a PLC or a
control system.
On-site indication of the measured value is often desired. To fulfill this
need, a wide range of display instruments is available. Indication, power
supply and mounting differ depending on the model. This product infor-
mation manual provides an overview and helps you select a suitable
instrument.
PLICSCOM
The display and adjustment module PLICSCOM is used for measured
value indication, adjustment and diagnosis of VEGA plics® sensors. It is
integrated in the respective sensor housing.Aftermounting, the sensor as
well as PLICSCOM are splash-proof even without housing cover.
An integratedbacklight enables reading even under unfavourable lighting
conditions. As an option, the display can also be equipped with heating
that ensures good readability at low temperatures down to -40 °C (-40 °F).
Your benefit
l Minimum time expenditure through reliable function and clear,
graphic-capable LC display with 4-key operation as well as integrated
lighting.
l Simple and reliable adjustmentof theplics® sensors throughclear text
indication and graphic support
l Since it is easy to detach, it can also be used on other sensors
VEGADIS 81
The VEGADIS 81 is an external measured value display for VEGA plics®
sensors that can also be used for sensor adjustment. It canbemounted at
a distance of up to 50 m from the sensor and is powered directly by the
sensor.Separate external energy is not required. If thesensor is difficult to
access, the VEGADIS 81 can be mounted at an optimised location.
Your benefit
l Good readability through clear DOT matrix display with easy 4-key
adjustment as well as integrated display lighting
l Simple, clearly structured adjustment of the plics® sensors through
clear text indication and graphic support
l Readability andoperability facilitated on site by thedisplay andadjust-
ment module which can be plugged in in 90° rotational steps
VEGADIS 82
VEGADIS 82 is suitable for measured value indication and adjustment of
standard sensors with HART protocol. The instrument is looped directly
into the 4… 20mA signal line at any location. A separate external power
supply is not required. VEGADIS 82 also operates exclusively as an in-
dicating instrument in a 4 … 20 mA current loop.
It is particularly suitable for hydrostatic pressure transmittersVEGAWELL
52 and radar sensorsVEGAPULSWL 61 4… 20mA/HART. It contains a
breather facility for ventilation of the sensors via the capillary line in the
special cable.
Your benefit
l Minimum time and cost expenditure for on-site parameter adjustment
via clearly arranged display with simple 4-key adjustment
l Reliable and easy adjustment of theHART sensors through clear text
indication with graphic support
VEGADIS 175
The VEGADIS 175 is a digital indicating instrument without additional
external energy. It is used for separate measured value indication on all
standardized 4… 20mA circuits.Due to the standardized dimensions of
the display, it is generally used as a front panel instrument.
The VEGADIS 175 is looped into the 4 … 20 mA signal cable at any
position and is suitable for active (four-wire) as well as passive (two-wire)
sensors.
Your benefit
l Universal use through 5-digit, scalable display
l Individually adjustable decimal point provides high flexibility when ad-
justing the instrument
l Reliable function and wide range of application thanks to compact,
rugged housing with high protection rating

5.2 AdjustmentonVEGADIS81withPACTware
PACTware/DTM
The plics® sensors can be adjusted through VEGADIS 81 via PACTware
independent of the respective signal outout. For operation with
PACTware, an instrument driver (DTM) is required for the respective
sensor.
All currently available VEGA DTMs are provided as "DTMCollection and
PACTware" on a data carrier. They are available from the responsible
VEGA agency for a token fee. The standard version of the "DTM Collec-
tion and PACTware" is available as a free-of charge download from the
Internet. This standard version includes already the project documenta-
tion and storage.
For additional functions of the DTM such as multiviewer and tank calcu-
lation, the full version "DTM Collection and PACTware" is required. This
version can be bought from the VEGA agency serving you.
