ISFFA Los Angeles:

On March 30, 2013, ISFFA participated in Hunger Fight drive of The

Ascend LA Metro Chapter that was held at the Los Angeles Regional

Food Bank. Together with other organizations and individual volun-

teers, we helped in assembling food packages for over 23,000 low

income seniors, women with infants, and children in Los Angeles

County. The food packages consist of food items like canned fruit,

canned vegetables, rice, cereal and other non-perishable food items.

“This is my first time to join the community service at ISFFA. Indeed,

volunteering at the food bank was a fun and fulfilling experience. All

volunteers were grouped into different assembly sections that facili-

tated the efficient packing of the food items. Each volunteer had a

specific role to play such as putting specific type of food items inside

the bag, lifting the packed bag into the container, and arranging the

used cardboards. As I looked around, I noticed that the volunteers

were enjoying the moment, maybe because they felt fulfilled in shar-

ing their time or they’re just having fun doing the community work

while chatting with the other volunteers, or both”, commented by

Lance Leal, ISFFA Student Vice President for Social Events.

ISFFA is always looking forward to doing another community service. For those who are interested to join us in

our future community service events, please email Al Ocampo at al_oca2004@yahoo.com or Lance Leal at
