Copy the following in the notes in the notes section of your notebook.

Ratio table- a table with columns filled with pairs of numbers that have the same ratio.

A ratio table is filled with equivalent ratios.

Equivalent ratios can be found by: adding the same number repeatedly or by multiplying or dividing the each quantity by the same number

Jake and Joey shared some pennies in the ratio 4:9. Joey had 81 pennies. How many fewer pennies did Jake have than Joey?

First, find the missing number in the ratio table. Ask yourself, “What did I do to the 9 to get to 81?” Do the same thing to 4 to get the missing number.

Then, subtract 81- the missing number to get the answer to the question.
