The Ramat Negev Desert Agro Research Center (RNDARC), is located at the junction of two different soil terrains.

The purpose was to improve yield and quality of numerous crops, including techniques for cost-effective water conservation and erosion control , planting, crop rotation, harvesting and food processing.

               

                  

RNDARC scientists have introduced new crops to local farming, cultivated a variety of traditional fruits and vegetables, established fish farms and beef cattle herds, raised exotic birds such as ostriches and partridges, and grown fodder crops.

The centre is a world leader in salty water irrigation research and crop response and works with and provides services to the agricultural communities in the Ramat Negev region.

For example, picnic tables and barbecue installations are built and placed to suit wheelchairs and special playground and sport structures have been installed. Projects for the visually challenged have explanatory signs in Braille and landscaping focuses on aromatic plants, whose strong aroma heightens the sensory experience. Nature trails are paved for easier access for the wheelchair bound as well as strategically placed rest rooms. These developments have opened many new recreational opportunities in nature for challenged individuals. For some people it was their first time they have been on nature trails with their family

Jewish National Fund has met the challenge by designing facilities such as parks, picnic areas, playgrounds, leisure corners, nature trails, lookouts and

other recreational facilities in Israel - that meet the needs of everyone, including the physically challenged.

The benefit of this project is for the physically challenged to experience live as a person no other different then you and me, to go on nature trails , to enjoy a braai and able to sit at the table with out any hassle .In other words for a person who is blind ,deaf, in a wheelchair or any other physical challenged person to feel normal.
