Context of Rasuwa:Most survivors of Rasuwa experience sexual and

physical assault. Husbands are reported as the alleged perpetrators but very few survivors are willing for legal steps to the cases.

There are number of adolescents who are forced to sleep in our safe space regularly by their mothers. In close probing and discussion their mother say they want to save their daughters from their fathers(???). In few cases attack by father’s was noticed, and the answer was given – confused between wife and daughter as all were sleeping together…

As school got collapsed children were/are relocated to a tent situation at isolated area.

Teacher(male) was found to be sleeping with the adolescent girls under the name of supporting, taking care of these relocated girls.

Can be seen different unknown faces luring the girls while visiting different camps.

Need to start different educational sessions at different places- worec has started

Survivors believe their economic dependency to their husbands is the primary cause they don’t want to expose their case to the court or police.

The situation in Rasuwa has worsen after EQ. In post-EQ situation, most of survivors live in tent and they are compelled to use collective and public toilet, which are a bit away from their tents. Women’s have to wait for quite a long period of time for their turn. According to the survivors, lingering to return back home fume their husband and they become the survivor of the violence without any fault, just being a women.

These alarming reports of GBV survivors cases in five most effected districts by EQ really calls for our attention and intention to restore the women friendly environment and society with safety, security, and smile!

THANK YOU!
