Features:
This evaluation kit enables the testing of Quantex BIB-19 pumps & accessories including those
that require mains water for mixing. It incorporates a pump drive, pump chassis, a high
performance stepper motor, integrated motor controller, solenoid, stand and power supply. The
motor controller also features an aux output to switch 3rd party equipment, e.g. external
solenoid or status indicator.

Image Features
BiB-19
Inlet: compatible with 1” BIB gland
Outlet: compatible with range of accessories
Flowrate: 0-30ml/s
Resolution: 0.8ml
Transit Cap Compatible with BiB-19HP
Ready-to-drink security cap with airless valve
Transit seal 1 bar.
Valve to prevent dripping and oxidation.
Note:
The transit cap has been assembled onto the pump outlet in its closed transit position and can
seal against a shock load of 1 bar. When twisted anti-clockwise it is moved to its ‘open’ position
where is now seals against 0.1bar.

Quick start for BiB-19 dilution pump:
Assemble unit as shown:
1. Plug in the unit and turn
on the power. The green
light on the other side of
the evaluation kit will
illuminate green.
2. Connect to the regulated
mains water supply to
the push fit connector at
the back of the kit.
Ensure that tube is fully
engaged with the 8mm
push fit connector.
1. Adjust the water flowrate
by adjusting the
pressure on the water
regulator. The ideal
water flowrate for mixing
is between 15ml/s and
25ml/s.

.
4. Fill bag with concentrate and plug
with pump (attach dip tube if required).
Place assembly onto the metal tray.
5. Orient the pump towards the motor
drive and water connection.
6. Push the back of the pump
and back of the mixer to
ensure that the parts are fully
engaged.

7. The programme that actuates the solenoid is pre-loaded onto the kit along with a motor
speed of 3 rps.
8. To adjust the mix ratio, hold the water flow constant and adjust the concentrate flow by
increasing or decreasing the motor speed. See pages 12 - 16 for instructions to adjust
the motor program.
Note: Pumps are supplied in the BDC condition (i.e. the deepest part of the rotor cavity is
facing the diaphragm in the pump). To achieve maximum accuracy a full cavity should be
evacuated i.e. increments of 180° for 2-cavity rotors. Pumps should be stored in the BDC
condition.
Set-up for standard BiB-19 pump (no dilution):
Assemble unit as shown:
1. Fill bag with liquid to be dispensed
and plug with pump (attach dip tube
if required). Place assembly onto the
metal tray.
2. Ensure that the bag flange is flush
with the base of the metal tray. This
will allow alignment of the pump with
the motor drive shaft.

Change the motor programme using the instructions on page 12. Download one of the required
programs – please ensure that you don’t use the solenoid program when connected to the
mains water supply – the standard pump does not accommodate dilution.
3. Orient the pump towards
the motor drive.
4. Push the back of the pump
to ensure that the pump is
fully engaged with the pump
drive.

BiB-19 with transit cap:
1. Assemble the evaluation kit as per the previous instructions.
2. Twist the transit cap anticlockwise to its open position
3. To adjust the motor program, follow the instructions on pages 12 – 16.
An image of the BiB-19HP pump with Transit Cap accessory is shown below:
BiB-19 with Particulate Valve:
Assemble unit as before. Download software programme with reverse cycle to suck the
last drips or dribbles back behind the valve and to move valve back to its inverted
position.

Cap accessory.
No mains water or solenoid
actuation required.

To adjust the motor program:
Connect the evaluation kit to the tablet provided using the USB cable supplied.
The motor controller software is pre-installed on the tablet computer.
1. Open the TMCL icon from the taskbar
2. Use the USB cable to connect the evaluation kit to the tablet. Switch on the power to the
evaluation kit.
3. Click setup on the toolbar: Setup>Options>Connection
This shows that the device port is recognised.
If not selected, select the port assigned with [TMCM-1060] after the COM Port number.

4. To open a program, click on documents folder: This PC>Documents>
There are a number of programs available:
The programs labelled ‘Speed, Revs’ allow the speed and number of revolutions to
be adjusted.
‘Speed, Time’ allows the motor to be programmed to turn for a length of time at a
particular speed.
The programs labelled with reverse, allow a reverse cycle at the end of dispense to
suck last drips or dribbles back into the pump outlet.
The programs labelled ‘solenoid’ tell the controller to open the solenoid.
The looped programs allow the programs to be looped with an adjustable pause time
between doses.
The water flow calibration program allows the water flow to be calibrated without the
motor turning. This program tells the solenoid to open for 4 seconds without turning
the motor.

5. Open required program (e.g. Speed, Revs.tmc.) Adjust user variables: RPS, Revs,
Direction (DIR) & acceleration
6. Download new program to device by clicking on this button on the toolbar:
7. Activate the program by clicking on this button on the toolbar: (unit will self-activate
program if power is reset)
For more information read PD60-1060_TMCL_firmware_manual.pdf. This manual is located in
the documents folder on the tablet supplied with the evaluation kit.

To download a programme that actuates the solenoid:
1. Open programme named Speed, revs – solenoid. Adjust rps, revs, acceleration and
direction as required.
2. This program incorporates a flush cycle that keeps the solenoid open for 0.25 seconds
after the motor has stopped. This can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the
opening time. See arrow below:
Once parameters are satisfactory, download the program as per the previous instructions.
