G System DesignThe stamping environment is tough on equipment and therefore the mechanical
and electrical design of our systems are rugged and robust. Tool design and
motion profi les are determined prior to tool and transfer build. This optimizes
run rates and eliminates tooling interference, thereby maximizing production
and achieving full production rates.
Linear’s design process includes the following procedures:
• Strict drawing revisions.
• GD&T dimensioning techniques are employed for primary tolerencing.
• Formal ECR/ECN Process is in place to ensure continuous improvement
and proper build documentation.
• All components are modeled and assembled with 3D CAD tools; all
electrical schematics are produced with automated electrical CAD tools.
• Mechanical and electrical CAD tools are used to generate automated
Engineering Work Orders/ Bill Of Materials.
• All Engineering Work Orders contain all material requirements and
operations necessary to complete the machine.
All of the above processes are critical to produce high-quality equipment from
a quantifi ed proven design.
Manufacturing QualityAt Linear quality is very important to us. Our highly skilled engineers and
trade professionals are dedicated to continuous improvement and committed
to product quality, ensuring that only the fi nest workmanship goes into each
system.
All Linear systems are based on a quantifi ed and proven design. They are
constructed from precision-machined components that are designed for low
inertia and moved on linear rail systems. The transfer arms are constructed
of versatile, high torsion, aluminum extrusion or aluminum/steel tubing,
depending on the application.
TestingPrior to shipping, systems are installed on test stands in our production facility
in order to conduct rigourous cycle testing under full load. This ensures that all
systems meet or exceed contract requirements. Base line data is recorded at
time of testing and provided to the customer for future reference if required.
The mechanical and electrical installation of all Linear’s equipment is
performed by qualifi ed Linear personnel and is included in the price. The
press integration and safety system is confi rmed by Linear technicians and a
sign-off procedure is completed with the customer. A typical installation will
take approximately 1 week.

GY Control Functionality
Linear’s controls have a “SCADA” (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)
based interface providing supervisory control of the entire line. This is a control
system that is capable of monitoring equipment or processes, logging data
and issuing errors if parameters go outside the limits.
Linear’s unique technology is “cammed” to the press, (it speeds up and slows
down) working in unison with the press. From one touch screen, up to 40 axes
of motion can be controlled.
All servomotors, drives and motion controllers are monitored and any error
messages are accessible through the touch screen. These advanced
troubleshooting features allow for quick pin pointing of errors and increase
service effi ciency and production uptime.
Features:
• Touch Screen HMI
• Unlimited Recipe Storage is available
• Fully Programmable
• Extensive Diagnostic Capabilities
• “SCADA” (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition)
• Integrated Part Detection
• Integrated Die Protection
• Counter Balance Control
• Shut Height Control

R Front & Rear FR-ClassTM
The FR-ClassTM mounts on the front and rear
of the press, perfect for presses with small
window dimensions and the retro-fi t market
where older presses can be converted into a
start of the art transfer press. With servo motor
control of all axes for high speed and accuracy,
these machines are designed to retract up
and out of the way to provide easy access for
die changeover and tooling adjustment. This
easy to program, low maintenance system is
available in four sizes: LTS-1000, LTS-2000,
LTS-3000 and Titan Series. With the variety
of sizes offered, a suitable system is easily
determined and integrated with any size
press.
As is standard with all of Linear’s automation
equipment, the Front and Rear Mount comes
complete with touch screen control, and master
encoder feedback. Die and programmable
part detection is also standard on all systems,
providing the optimum in press and tooling
safety. Our systems store multiple tooling
recipes for quick and easy recall facilitating
quick die change over times.
Options:
ROBOGLIDE OPTION
This option now makes it possible for stampers
to feed the press and run parts all with the
same system. Effectively doubling the grip
axis stroke, the RoboGlide Option allows
stampers to pick parts from outside the press
bolster and place them virtually anywhere
on the bolster. Placed on the bottom of the
Y-slide, this state of the art design takes up
no extra space and maintains high SPM’s and
quality that is standard for Linear Transfer
Systems.
AUTOMATIC TRANSFER BAR
LOAD / UNLOAD SYSTEM
This option offers a fully automated bar change
system. The bars are automatically parked,
disconnected then reconnected and aligned
without the need for manual interaction. This
option includes all fully automatic mechanical,
electrical and pneumatic connections.
TRANSFER BAR TILT SYSTEM
This option offers the advantage of keeping
existing tooling on the bar during die
changeover, and allows the user to run a
variety of tooling sets from one set of transfer
bars. This mechanism can tilt to a 90-degree
angle once retracted. The result is a versatile
and cost effective solution for running a wide
variety of dies or tooling methods.

SS MD-Class
The MD-Class, “multi-directional” is the most versatile and fl exible system Linear has to offer. Typically installed on large bed presses the transfer can move payloads in excess of 1000lbs, including parts and tooling at rates greater than 30 SPM.
The MD-Class can run parts Left to Right, Right to Left, Back to Front or Front to Back. The grip, lift and pitch, can also be greater on one side than the other in either confi guration. This motion can be changed from a standard 3 Axis mode to a 2 Axis mode, running grip and pitch with a push of a button.
Furthermore, a walking-beam / cross-bar motion “lift and pitch” can be created easily. These types of motions are common in the frame stamping industry, moving parts such as bumpers and large frame sections.
The most effective and effi cient solution for stamped parts which are heavy and complex in nature, is to utilize options such as servo part rotation, and the multiple tool pass-line option with automatic bar parking.
Minimal labor is required increasing up time and decreasing down time due to excessive die and fi nger tooling change over time. Typically changeover times are as low as 8 minutes from hit to hit.
The MD-Class, Titan Series®, will park completely up and out of the way so die carting, lift truck clearance, die maintenance and die changeover functions are easily performed.

De-stack Feeders Both our servo driven feeders are designed to process blanks
of various geometries, sizes and materials, allowing a large
range of products to be produced in a single transfer press.
For your convenience, our units can be rolled to the side and
coil feed systems rolled into place to run progressive dies.
Double blank protection is an integral part of all Linear’s blank
feeders.
Magnetic ConveyorsThe magnetic conveyor de-stack feeder, is an effective
solution for running ferrous materials and is characterized
by its high speed (40 SPM) capability. When used with a
Linear Transfer System, this feeder is fully integrated with
the transfer, providing the operator single point control over
all the automation. It has integrated double blank sensing
and is available with a number of material handling options
to suit your plant and material handling process. The feeders
are available in four sizes to suit any range of blanks. Sizes
include: LTF-1000, LTF-2000, LTF-3000 and Titan Series.
Vacuum Pick and PlaceThe vacuum pick and place feeder is specifi cally developed
for running non-ferrous materials. With our system, the same
integration, stack handling options and size options are offered
and combined with a vacuum “pick-and-place” actuator.
With the variety of series offered, a suitable system is easily
determined and integrated with any size press.
