Celebrating our Independence!!!
Summer is in full swing here at david place! We have been
enjoying the unseasonably cool weather by getting outside
and enjoying the gardens. We have even picked our first
cucumber out of it!
The residents were treated to a fireworks display put on by
Mag M. and helpers for the 4th
. We have also been getting
ready to submit our projects to the Butler Co. Fair, check
back next month to see how entries placed.
It also finally warmed up and dried out enough to make our
first fishing trip of the year and it was a success. Inside are
pictured from our Father’s Day toy show. Thanks to a few
avid collectors we had a great selection of items that the
residents got to see and touch.
We also celebrated Vetter Health Services 40th
Anniversary
by having our quarterly party, “I Love the 80’s.” Each hall
had a decoration contest and also a best dressed contest.
The residents got to pick the winners. Check by next quarter
to see what the next theme will be!

July Astrology
In astrology, those born between July 1 and
July 22 are the Crabs of Cancer. Crabs are
emotional nurturers, dedicated to their home
and family. Gentle and kind, they love
storytelling around the dinner table and
enjoy upholding traditions. Those born
between July 23 and July 31 are the Lion star
sign Leo. Leos are dignified, strong, and
powerful, making good leaders and
honorable friends. They are also ambitious—
reaching for the stars, working hard, and
accomplishing their goals.
Father’s Day at david place featured a toy show this year. Ed H.’s
family kindly brought part of his toy collection to show and share. Lots
of neat antique toys were shared with our residents. Thanks to all who
participated and brought items to share!
Vetter’s 40th anniversary theme for the quarter was the 1980’s. In
honor of that we threw a ‘80’s party. People dressed up and
celebrated all things ‘80’s. Including big hair, rubix cubes and
Doritos.

Jennifer M……………….……..July 31 There is something puzzling about July 13.
On this day in 1944, Erno Rubik—the
inventor of Rubik’s Cube—was
born in Hungary.
Perhaps this is why July 13
is celebrated as International
Puzzle Day.
Rubik did not start out his career as a
puzzle inventor. As an architect and professor of
architecture, he handmade the first Rubik’s Cube in
1974 to help teach his students about three-
dimensional space. When his invention left Hungary
in 1980 and was manufactured as a toy, it became a
worldwide craze. More than five million cubes were
sold the first year. More than 350 million have been
sold since, making it perhaps the most popular toy
ever invented. As for Rubik, his interests remain in
educating students about engineering, science, and
technology, and he has recently launched a
worldwide tour promoting the field of science,
technology, engineering, and math (known
collectively as STEM).
