Orissa has a potential to generate 4500Mw from renewable source. Orissa Electricity Regulatory Commission has made mandatory to Govt.
to purchase 10% of Power from Renewable Energy source. Govt of India has identified 8sites for setting up wind mills generating
1500Mw. Gopalpur, Chandbali, Puri, Paradip,Konark and Damonjodi are the
potential sites. Power Purchase Agreement with Govt Potential from Solar Energy is 2000Mw. Orissa has signed MOU to generate 100Mw from Solar Photo Voltaic. 8nos of Projects finalized to generate 200Mw from biomass source. Mini/Micro/Small hydel projects have potential to generate about
1000Mw. Grid connectivity for commercial production
