90% target language & 10% English

Began at Washington Elementary in CNUSD 9 years ago.

Open to everyone regardless of background or learning

disabilities.

perform others on achievement tests.

How it’s done:How it’s done:All the curriculum taught is aligned

with the California State Standards.Language is not taught in isolation, but

contextualized.Lessons are designed with the learning

of the second language in mind. There is a strict separation of languages

during instructional time.

courses in Spanish. 4 courses in Spanish language and composition and 4 additional academic courses.
