COURSE DESCRIPTION
ENG.101 ENGLISH ENRICHEMENT CREDIT: 3 UNITS
This course aims primarily to develop students’ communicative and thinking skills for academic study. FIL 111 KOMUNIKASYON SA AKADEMIKONG FILIPINO CREDIT: 3 UNITS
Ang Filipino 1 ay isang metalinggwistik na pag-aaral sa gamit ng akademikong Filipino sa iba’t
ibang sitwasyon at larangan. Sa paraang interdisiplinaryo at interaktibo inaasahang mauunawaan
at malilinang sa mga estudyante ang mga kailangang kaalaman at kasanayan sa paggamit ng
Filipino sa lalong mataas na edukasyon.
CHEM 100 GENERAL CHEMISTRY (ORGANIC & INORGANIC) CREDIT: 5 UNITS
A comprehensive course covering the fundamental concepts and principles of chemistry, blending
fact with the theory in application, particularly to the various fields of students’ interest and
generally to the physical world. Emphasis is given to the correlation of the present concepts of
atomic composition and structure with the physical and chemical properties of elements and
compounds. Descriptive inorganic chemistry forms the concluding topics of the course.
N 100 THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS IN NURSING CREDIT: 3 UNITS
This course deals with the meta concept of the person, health, and environment and nursing as
viewed by the different theorist; likewise it includes non-nursing theories such as system,
development and change theories. It presents how these concept and theories serve as guide to the
nursing practice. It further deals with health as a multi-factorial phenomenon and the necessary
core competencies that nurses need to development
MATH 100 Math Enrichment CREDIT: 3 UNITS
A study of sets and numbers, basic fundamentals operations, factoring, fractions, exponents and radicals, linear, and quadratic equations, determinants, complex numbers, inequalities, variations, binomials, theorem, progressions, permutations and combinations.
PSYCH 101 GENERAL PSYCHOLOGY CREDIT: 3 UNITS
The course aims to provide the students with a general understanding of the factors involved in
human behavior. It deals with the principles of growth and development and the psychology bases
affecting the development of personality. It emphasizes the application of psychology concepts to

This course covers the concepts and principles in the provision of basic care in terms of health

The course deals with the physiological and pathogenic properties of bacteria, fungi and viruses as
introduction to disease causation. It also deals with the component of the immune system and host-

The course deals with the concept of disturbances and pre-existing health problems of pregnant
women and pathologic changes during intra-partum and post-partum periods. These disturbances
are emphasized to facilitate the early recovery of clients. Likewise, this course further deal with the
common problems occurring during infancy to adolescence stage, RLE activities provide students
opportunity for actual experiences to ensure competencies are developed.

This course which deals with the study of food in relation to health. It covers nutrients and others
substances and their action, and their interaction and balance in relation to health and diseases and
the process by which organism ingests, digests, absorbs, transports, utilizes and excretes food
substances. It will also focus in the therapeutic and food service aspects of the delivery of
nutritional services in hospital and other health care institutions.

This course deals with phamacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, clinical/therapeutic uses and
toxicology. Emphasis is given on how a drug works to anticipate when giving a drug to a patient are
