• The Standalone Proflame is an automatic ignition gas control system that
includesanuserselectableintermittentorstandingpilot.
Features include: twin safety system with true flame detection for enhanced
safety and reliability, On/Off, Manual Hi/Low, and Remote modulation valve
configurations, integrated for use with the Proflame Remote Control GT, GTM,
GTMF,GTMSandGTMFSfamilies,operablefromawallswitchoraremotecontrol,
alowpowerconsumptiondesignprovidesachoiceforACpower,Batterypoweror
ACpowerwithBatterybackup.
The880ProflameControlprovidesbasicON/OFFoperationofgasflowtothepilot
andmainburnersoftheheatingappliance.
The886ProflameControlhasthesamefunctionsasthe880controlexceptthat it
includesHI/LOknobformanualflameheightadjustment.
TheProflamecontrolsaredesignedtobeusedwitheitherLPGorNaturalGasand
canbeconvertedbyuseofanOEMsuppliedconversionkit.
The 880 valves can also be upgraded to 886 configurations by installing OEM
suppliedconversionkits.
• TheProflameGTMSisamodularremotecontrolsystemthatdirectsmultiple
functions of modern hearth appliances. The GTMS is configured to control the
on/off and flame height operation of the main burner, provides for thermostatic
controlof theapplianceandSplit Flowdualburner control. Thecontrol features
an advanced Smart thermostat which automatically modulates the flame height
optimizingroomtemperaturemanagement.
TheProflameGTMS system is specificallydeveloped tobeused togetherwith the
Proflame885valve,DigitalFireplaceControl(DFC)boardandprovidesbatteryback
upintheeventoflinepowerloss.
• TheProflameGTMFSisamodularremotecontrolsystemthatdirectsmultiple
functions of modern hearth appliances. The GTMFS is configured to control the
on/offandflameheightoperationofthemainburnerandprovidesforthermostatic
control of the appliance. Additional features include; fan speed control through
6 levels, a remotely actuated 120/60Hz power outlet and Split Flow dual burner
control. Comfort control is advanced by the Smart thermostat feature which
automaticallymodulatestheflameheightoptimizingthetemperaturemanagement
andtheroomambience.
TheProflameGTMFSsystemisspecificallydevelopedtobeusedtogetherwiththe
Proflame885valve,DigitalFireplaceControl(DFC)boardandprovidesbatteryback
upintheeventoflinepowerloss.

TheProflameReceiver (Fig.3) connectsdirectly to thegasvalve steppermotor,andtotheFanControl Module with a wiring harness. The receiver is powered by 4 AA type batteries. ThereceiveracceptscommandsviaradiofrequencyfromtheTransmittertooperatetheapplianceinaccordancewiththeparticularProflamesystemconfiguration.TheReceiversliderswitchcanbesettooneofthesethreepositions:ON(ManualOverride),Remote(Remotecontrol)orOFF.

Fan Control Module (FCM) offers the added ability to control the fan speed from off throughsix(6)speeds,aremotelyactuated120Voutlet,andaconstantlypowered120Voutlet.TheFCMprovides DC power to the receiver allowing the batteries to be used only in the event of linepowerloss(Fig.4).

Initializing the System for the first time
SetthemainburnerON/OFFswitchtotheOFFposition.Ifinstalled,setthepilotflamemodeselectorswitchtotheIPIposition.Install 4 AA batteries into the battery holder, and respect the polarity indicated on the batteryholdersilkscreen.ConnectthebatteryholdertotheDFC’smainwiringharness.ConnecttheAC/DCwalladaptertotheDFC’sDC-jackconnectoronthemainwiringharness,andplugitintothewallmainssupply.
Setting the Appliance into Continuous Pilot ignition mode
Ifinstalledonthewirings,settheIPI/CPIPilotModeSwitchtotheCPIposition(switchclosed).AtthatpointtheDFC ignitionboardwill immediatelycompletethe ignitionsequenceforthePilotFlame,andthenwillremainwiththePilotFlameON,waitingforacommandtoignitetheMainBurnerFlame.
Turning ON the Appliance
ClosetheON/OFFcommandcontactontheON/OFFwires,andthiswillcommandtheDFCignitionboardtoTurn-ONtheappliance’smainburner.
Turning OFF the Appliance

OPeratinG PrOcedUre fOr a remOte cOntrOl system
Turning ON the Appliance
Press the ON/OFF Key on the Transmitter. The TransmitterdisplaywillshowallactiveIconsonthescreen.AtthesametimetheReceiverwillcommandtheDFCboardtostarttheignition process. Once the pilot flame is proven the DFCboard will open the main valve outlet and the appliancemainburnerwill ignite.A single“beep” fromtheReceiverwillconfirmreceptionofthecommand.
Turning OFF the Appliance
Press the ON/OFF Key on the Transmitter. The Transmitter LCD display will only show the roomtemperatureandIcon(Fig.8).AtthesametimetheReceiverdisconnectswillcommandtheDFCboardtoturnofftheburner.Dependingonthesystemmodel(IPIorCPI)thepilotmayshutoff(IPI)orremainlit(CPI)andtheapplianceburnerturnsOFF.Asingle“beep”fromtheReceivercon-firmsreceptionofthecommand.
NOTE: if theContinuousPilot ignitionmode is selected, thePilotONFlamewill remain.ToalsoturnitcompletelyOFF,switchtheapplianceintoIntermittentPilotignitionmode,sosettheIPI/CPIPilotModeSwitchtotheIPIposition(switchopened).

Install the3AAAtypebatteries in theTransmitterbattery bay, located on the base of the Transmitter. With the batteries already installed in theTransmitter,pushtheONbutton.TheReceiverwill“beep”fourtimestoindicatetheTransmitter’scommandisaccepted.Thesystemisnowinitialized.
Setting the Appliance into Continuous Pilot ignition mode
If installedonthewirings, set the IPI/CPIPilotModeSwitchtotheCPIposition(switchclosed).AtthatpointtheDFCigni-tionboardwill immediatelycompletetheignitionsequenceforthePilotFlame,andthenwillremainwiththePilotFlameON,waitingforacommandtoignitetheMainBurnerFlame.

Flame Height Control
Proflame gT: with the system on, and the flame present in the appliance, pressing the DownArrowKey(Fig.1)willturnOFFtheflamewhiletheremotesystemisstillon.IftheUpUrrowKeyispressedwhileintheabovedescribedstatetheflamewillcomeon.(Fig.9A&9D)
Proflame gTM & gTMF:has six (6) flame levels.With the systemon,and the flame levelat themaximum in the appliance, pressing the Down Arrow Key (Fig. 1) once will reduce the flameheightbyonestepuntiltheflameisturnedOFF.TheUpArrowKeywill increasetheflameheighteachtimeit ispressed. IftheUpArrowKeyispressedwhilethesystemisonbuttheflameisoff,theflamewillcomeoninthehighposition.(Fig.9A&9B&9C&9D)Asingle“beep”willconfirmreceptionofthecommand.

Smart Thermostat (Transmitter Operation) (Proflame gTM & gTMF & gTMFS only)
TheSmartThermostatfunctionadjuststheflameheightinaccordancetothedifferencebetweenthe set point temperature and the actual room temperatures. As the room temperature getscloser to the set point the Smart Function will modulate the flame down. To activate thisfunction,presstheThermostatKey(Fig.1)untiltheword"SMART"appearstotherightofthetemperaturebulbgraphic(Fig.12).Toadjustthesettemperature,presstheUporDownArrowKeysuntilthedesideredsettemperatureisdisplayedontheLCDscreenoftheTransmitter(Fig.13).

TransmitterThelifespanoftheremotecontrolbatteriesdependsonvariousfactors:qualityofthebatteriesused,thenumberofignitionsoftheappliance,thenumberofchangestotheroomthermostatsetpoint,etc.When the transmitter batteries are low, an Icon will appear on the LCD display of thetransmitter(Fig.19)beforeallbatterypowerislost.WhenthebatteriesarereplacedthisIconwilldisappear.
ReceiverThelifespanofthereceiverbatteriesdependsonvariousfactors:qualityofthebatteriesused,thenumberof ignitionsoftheappliance,thenumberofchangestotheroomthermostatsetpoint,etc.When the receiver batteries are low, No “beep” will be emitted from the receiver when itreceivesanOn/Offcommandfromthetransmitter.This isanalertforalowbatteryconditionforthereceiver.Whenthebatteriesarereplacedthe“beep”willbeemittedfromthereceiverwhentheON/OFFkeyispressed(SeeInitializationofTheSystem).
