Purpose of the Forum • To inform you of the services and support that we

are able to deliver;

• To inform you of the programmes and support that you can get from Hanban;

• To know what kind of support /service you require;

• To set up a school network for future collaboration

Contents of the Forum • Introducing our proposed programmes

• Sharing experience in teaching Chinese language and culture

• Sharing good practice in developing successful activities with schools in the UK and collaborative work with schools in China

• Open forum

Our programmes for schools

Taster sessions

20 minutes 20 minutes

•Length of session flexible•Contents adaptable to suit different age groups

Cultural Workshops

•Calligraphy

•Tai Chi

•Story telling

•Folk dance & songs (Fan Dance, Ribbon Dance, Waist-drum Dance, Lion Dance)

•Traditional handicraft (paper-cutting, pottery, plate-painting, knot-knitting, Peking Opera face-painting )

•Chinese school PE activities (School Morning Exercise, Rubber-band skipping, Shuttlecock kicking, Eye Massage)

•Food (dumplings, spring rolls)

For both primary & secondary schools

Flexible in format & organization

China Day• Day event (4 – 6 hours) to experience Chinese

language and culture

• Flexible in format ( to be decided by schools, with language tasters and/or cultural workshops)

• Can be organized alongside with school events, such as Languages Day, International Culture Day …etc.
