Objective

Canadian Solar understands that the quality of logistics is decisive and an essential part to thestrategic success of our company as well as of our customers.

This Logistics Manualis designed to explain our logistical conditions such as transport modes, packaging, the corresponding handling of our modules we provide among other logistics valueadded services.

Transport Mode

Canadian Solar modules are transported on pallets andcomponents in cartons. We offer deliveries in containerand trucks.

Pallets and Cardboard

• Our pallets are mainly composed of plywoodand cardboard

• According to the ISPM (International Standards for Phytosanitary Measure) rules ofinternational shipping , plywood andcardboard do not require a fumigationcertificate

• Pallets are wrapped in plastic and are double stacked

• Pallets are four-way-pallets and can be storedand handled from every side and in everydirection

Containers

Unloading the double pallets using a loading dock

• Loading dock must be flush and on the same level asthe truck or container

• Our pallets are customized and bigger than a standard european pallet to provide proper transport for the modules but they can be handledwith a european forklift.

Different kind of trucks

✓ Standard Trucks

✓ Curtain Side Trucks

• Our common truck used is the Standard Truck

• The Curtain Side truck can be used if theconsignee cannot provide a loading dock

• Based on forklift capabilities 4 pallets at once canbe unloaded

• Pallets shall be placed closely to each other andsecured with required lashing (according tonational traffic laws) to prevent from moving

Storage

Our modules can be stored in 2 different ways

✓ High Rack StorageMaximum 2 pallets are to be stackedon top of each other in racks

✓ Bulk Storage• Pallets should be stored on hard and flat

ground• Maximum 2 pallets are to be stacked on top

of each other• Do not stand on top of the pallets or

loose modules

Every module is labeled with a bar code (128 standard) on the exterior of the frame

Unpacking Instructions _ general

• The modules are packed vertically on the long side in the box

• Pallets should be placed on a flat area before unpacking

• Always have two workers to carry modules out of the box

• Always use both hands when handling the modules

Unpacking _ 1/2

• Disconnect / Remove the three packagingbelts

• Open/Remove the upper cover of the box• Disconnect/Remove the vertical and upper

horizontal packaging belts

• Tear off the hook and remove it from theupper front cover

Unpacking _ 2/2

• Bend the front cover along the middle cuttingline

• Two workers peel off cardboard tapes at bothends of one module at a time

• The tapes need to be rolled up as shown on the picture

• Two workers take the module out off the box• Repeat the peeling• Remove modules one at a time
