Glamping! Karaoke! Ca-noeing! Rock climb-ing! And a little bit of high school drama it sounds like. But the CEC Interac-tors, along with Bruce Ward and Melanie Gentz, had a grand time last weekend camping outside of Estes Park. Lot’s of stars, lot’s of water, lots of trails and hiking. It sounds like a grand time was had by all. A HUGE thank you to Bruce and Melanie for making a memorable and impactful weekend for the Interacters! Now for the next grand Rotary adven-ture: Thanks to your re-cruiting efforts, we now have 42 rafters signed up for our Rotary Rafting trip next Saturday, June 9th. The final cut-off date to attend this event and the pizza buffet luncheon at Beau Jo's is this Wednes-day, June 6th. After our Rotary breakfast at Pana-sonic, Geoff Noble will be calling in our final count to the rafting company. "The more the merrier!" So bring it on!!! Remember that tomorrow we are at the Panasonic

facility out near DIA to learn about the city of the future with self-driving cars, smart roads and traffic flow, a fully connect-ed and wireless environ-ment, and dare I say it… flying cars? Jet packs? Hyperloops? May-be even a space port or two? Join us for a fasci-nating discussion of the city of the future at the Panasonic facility! All jok-ing aside, these guys are working on the technology that is going in, today , to-morrow and many years into the future. No pun intended (well maybe…), but the is where the rub-ber meets the road. Come check it out. See you to-morrow. Adams

Denver Mile High Rotary Upcoming Programs

6/6 We will be dark at the UClub. On WED June 6, DMHR will travel to Panasonic’s CityNOW Headquarters (near DIA) where they recently built and opened their Smart City Innovation Showcase. The event will provide the opportunity to experience future planned advancements in city infrastructure and transportation. We’ll have breakfast there. This permanent and expanding exhibition is part of the efforts being made by Panasonic and other corporations as the City and County of Denver, RTD, DEN, CDOT, Xcel Energy, and many other Colorado stakeholders work towards a safer, smarter, more efficient future with smart city technology. 6/13 Tiffany Grady from Book Trust will be our speaker. Book Trust empowers kids from low-income families to choose and buy their own books, all through the school year. Tiffany will explain how Book Trust helps kids build home libraries full of books they want to read, and helps teachers use those books in the classroom to build healthy habits of reading and learning. This year Book Trust will deliver 1.6 million books to 53,000 kids in 22 states.

6/20 Teva Sienicki from Metro Caring will be our speaker. Metro Caring helps meet people's im-mediate food needs while sustainably address-ing the root cause of hunger: poverty. They pro-vide nutritious groceries to hungry neighbors, and also offer comprehensive, wrap-around anti-hunger programming so that families can break the cycle of poverty. Join us as Teva discusses the great work Metro Caring is un-dertaking, including their free grocery store, Fresh-Foods Market.
