On your piece of paper write your name and the name of one iPad app that you may use at school or at home.

App Fight Instructions:

Teachers want apps that teachers can input their own “curriculum” into the app in some fashion.

Teachers want the ability to pull “data” from the apps in some fashion. Teachers want to feel in control of their students “freedom” to provide a safe and secure learning environment.

Teachers want to feel in control of their students “freedom” to provide a safe and secure learning environment.

Teachers want apps that are easy for students as well as teachers to navigate.

Purpose: This app includes a simple way to view each Common Core standard.

Recommendation From a Real Teacher:A great reference for parents and teachers to easily and understand the core standards. Quickly find standards by subject, grade, and subject category (domain/cluster). This app currently includes Math standards K-12 and Language Arts standards K-12.

Common Core

Purpose: The ShowMe App allows the user to record annotations along with voice right on the iPad, esentially turning the iPad into an interactive, recordable "whiteboard."

Recommendation From a Real Teacher:I can see so many potential uses for this in the classroom! For teachers: instantly & on the fly create tutorials, directions, troubleshoot common problems, and project directions that include audio & notes so they meet multiple learning styles. For students: create how-to projects, ask questions, explain math problems, diagram a map, draw a diagram, and so many more!

Show Me

Purpose: ClassDojo helps teachers improve behavior in their classrooms quickly and easily. It also captures and generates data on behavior that teachers can share with parents and administrators.

Recommendation From a Real Teacher:Better learning behaviors, smoother lessons, and hassle-free data - and it's free for teachers!

Classdojo

Purpose: The Grade It! app is a must have app for every teacher. Grade It! makes it easy to calculate percentages for any assessment. Grade It! also allows teachers to email a copy of the assessment table.

Recommendation From a Real Teacher:- Calculate percentages based on total number of questions- E-Mail percentage table to yourself or other teachers

Grade It

Purpose: TeacherPLite is a technology savvy way for teachers to create Lesson Plans on their device.

Features:The app provides a template with many sections for the teacher to plan their lessons accordingly to the standards.Within the template there is a section provided for links to websites that align with the lesson plan.

Recommendations from a Real Teachers: This app is a great reusable resource for many years

because teachers are able to save their information to their device to use for the following years.

TeacherPLite

Purpose:Hall Pass is a great way to keep track of the students records of when and how often each student leaves the classroom.

Instead of having a sign out sheet, teachers are able to create Hall Passes for each student on this app.

Teachers are able to print and email these passes to others within the building.

Recommendations from a Real Teacher: This app is a great resource to use in case of emergencies

within the building. If teachers use this app, it will be easier to track the location of a student in any situation.
