Established in 1956, MNB devoted itself to the upliftment of those who arevisually challenged. Situated in Jogeshwari (W), Mumbai, MNB impartsVocational Training and a subsidized Hostel Facility to these people.

On its 50 th Anniversary, the M. N. Banajee Industrial Home for the Blindcommenced a scheme called Self Employment Scheme for Small Business with

the basic objective to help in the economic rehabilitation of the visually challenged persons coming from low income groups. Any visually challenged person iseligible under this scheme who demonstrates proficiency in some trade, crafts, hawking or in any small business. The beneficiary is given financial assistanceunder the scheme to continue or expand any small trade or business.

This makes them self-reliant, economically independent thus improving their quality of life.

This project has successfully touched 600 visually challenged persons since 2006.You may see them selling groceries from their own grocery store, selling stationaryitems at railway station bridges and trains.

There is a growing need of funds to keep this project sustainable and hence MNBis proud to announce its participation in the prestigious Standard CharteredMumbai Marathon on 16 th January, 2011.

We seek Individual and Corporate support for the same.

A marathon provides the city with a platform to come together in a celebration thatcuts across social and economic barriers. It brings together the common man, thecorporate czar, the politician, the socialite and the physically challenged onto one

platform. It is an event that stirs the conscience of every citizen, encouraging themto reach out in aid of a cause or charity.

An individual can represent the organization in the Full or Half Marathon or the

6kms Dream Run for Rs.3000/- which is a donation to the NGO itself. This is aregulation made by the Charity Partner of the Event, United Way.The participantmay additionally also raise funds with the help of donations of any amount fromhis family, friends and well wishers.

A Corporate can participate by arranging a group of 15 or 25 of its employees to participate in the Corporate Challenge Run thus publicizing the Corporates socialendeavors and support to various causes.

To present a group of 15 employees, the corporate would have to donateRs.2,00,000/- to the organization. And to present a group of 25 employees, adonation of Rs.3,00,000/- would need to be given.

There may be an instance where a corporate finds it challenging to participate inthe corporate challenge run due to the amount of donation that needs to be given. We can allow them to participate in the Dream Run where individuals participate
