Preschool Storytime: Dr. Seuss!

Welcome to Preschool Storytime!

Join us as we celebrate the works of Dr. Seuss! This week we will be reading a few Dr. Seuss

classics, and playing some games that will knock the socks off of foxes, and be right up Thing1 and

Thing 2’s alley.

Opening Song

Two little feet go tap!

Two little feet go tap, tap, tap,

Two little hands go clap, clap, clap.

A quick little leap up from my chair,

Two little arms reach high in the air.

Two little feet go jump, jump, jump,

Two little fists go thump, thump, thump.

One little body goes round and round,

And one little child sits quietly down.

Rhyme

EEKK

Elbow to elbow

Knee to knee

I’ll read to you and

You’ll read to me.

Elbow to elbow

Knee to knee

Book in the middle

So we both can see.

Today’s Books

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss

Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss

Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss

Fox in Socks by Dr. Seuss

Closing Song

Goodbye Rap

(by Rob Reid)

Wave high, wave low,

I think it’s time, we’ve got to go!

Wave your elbows, wave your toes,

Wave your tongue, wave your nose!

Wave your knees, wave your lips

Blow a kiss, with fingertips!

Wave your ears, wave your hair,

Wave your belly and derriere!

Wave your chin, and wave your eyes,

Now wave your hand and say “Goodbye!”

Early Literacy Tip

Allow your child to draw pictures and write

stories. Writing and drawing are great ways to

develop muscle strength for later writing.

Some other strength developing activities

include playing with dough, building with

blocks, scooping and pouring, tearing and

cutting paper, and sticking stickers.
