Viola, Savior of the Noli

• Received a telegram from Dr. Maximo• Viola agreed to finance the printing cost of

the Noli.• Rizal put the finishing touches on his

novel.• February 21, 1887 – Noli was finally

finished and ready for printing.• Berliner Buchdruckrei-Action-Gesselschaft,

charged 300 pesos.

Rizal Suspected as Frenchy Spy

• Police Berlin requested to see Rizal’s passport. He could not produce one.

• He must present his passport in four days, otherwise, he would be deported.
