Portraits have been done throughout time.Before the days of the camera, portraits weredone to document how people actually looked.Artists traditionally have done self-portraits representing theirown image in a way they choose.

Portraits have also been done in ways to showemotion or feeling. Some artists have even simplified the human face into simple shapes and lines.

Today we will look at several very famous portraitdone by very famous artists to get a sample of the many forms of portraits that exist.
