PORTFOLIO FINAL MAJOR 2021

This is a experimental publication focused on the word Gurbet which means feeling homesick and some-one living away from homeland. The publication includes interviews, arti-cles, photograohy to understand the connection between food and lan-guage as a tool used by migrants to stay connected to home. It includes interviews with Turkish and Kurdish migrants living in UK.

The brief wanted us to create out-comes highlighting the importance of being active as a family and also wanted a new branding and several outcomes to support their project in both Welsh and English.

I responded to this brief by sticking to the home activies project and creat-ing a campaign called “Your home is your playground”. This campaign in-cluded several outcomes which were posters, game cards, website, social media presence, game charts, stick-ers. These outcomes as a whole had a postive attitude towards the parents and children trying to encourgae them to be active as home using their home environment as a playground which will be able to attract both children and parents wit h information based designs focused on why these games are important and how it will benefit their childrens mental and physical health.

PORTFOLIO RSA - EXHIBITION 2021

This project is focused on RSA brief which aims to bridge a social divide in society using social media to cre-ate a inclusive platform. I chose to work on anti-immigration and hateful speech on Twitter, creating a virtuak targetted exhibition which the user enters a exhibition room filled with tweets from their feed.

The exhibition includes a 3D text wall seen on the right which will be placed in London to create a real life experience as well as virtual. The project includes posters, website to enter the exhibition, exhibition design, social media adverts, bill-boards and a video to be projected somewhere in London.

CHALLENGING CULTURAL ASSUMPTIONS.

These series of postcards are focused on cultural assumptions, stereotypes about Turkish people in UK. Post cards use typography and image manipula-tion to merge humuor and words to raise awareness and create conversa-tions from my personal perspective.

The post cards are printed off and will be used by people when they want to send something to Turkey. The second postcards focuses on other questions and assumptions directed at Turkish women, these can be directly religios questions or other assumptions about their appreance.

This is the book cover design for Pen-guin Design Awards, I approached the brief for this book by focusing on ty-pography to create a simple but strong visual.

PORTFOLIO DISSERTATION DESIGN 2021

This is a experimental dissertation design aims to explore the question “What is the role of graphic design in the social reproduction?: The graphic designer as an organic intellectual in a class society? “  The design is focused on the fuzzy ethical lines in graphic design and how these ethical issues are affecting the social reproduction as graphic design reproduces the capitalist culture which is inequality and dominant ideology in the society.

I used a system where it is breaking the traditional grid systems to give essence of the dissertation.
