LTO IMPROVEMENTS

• Operational for 12 months now –

commissioned Nov-2017

• Manages the quality of site water

discharges to the Harbour

• Developed in consultation with the EPA

as a PRP.

• Provides the ability to maintain sufficient

capacity to capture larger rain events

• In 2018, the CDFS has removed >93% of

sediment from the ‘raw’ water drawn

from our Settling Pond.

• Additional pumps and sump connectivity to

increase storage and pumping capacity

• Increases reliability of the sump return system at

the wharf during intense rain events and in the

event of a power failure.

CCT YARD MACHINE LIGHTING UPGRADES

• A two-fold improvement: HPS to LED lighting, and the top half of the machine is now lighting activated via a local switch or remotely from the Control Room

• An estimated >90% saving in electricity consumption, GHG emissions and associated costs.

• Electricity savings are equivalent to the annual consumption of 24 ½ Newcastle households.
