$1,500.00 ● Reside and be a high school male student in one of the
following cities within the State of Virginia: Newport News,
York County, Williamsburg, Gloucester, Hampton, and
Poquoson
● Possess a Grade Point Average of a 2.75 on a 4.0 scale
● Must have demonstrated involvement in community service
● Plan to attend and enroll in a four-year college or university
● A completed scholarship application
● A completed essay
● An official school transcript(s), indicating current GPA,
courses taken and grades received;
● Two letters of reference, one from an organization where the
applicant is involved in community service and one from
someone that works in a school system
● A one-page minimum personal statement on your family
background, career aspiration, community involvement, why
pursuing a higher education is important to you and any
reasons why you think you should be selected to receive a
scholarship
