SONG BOOK

Seventh Edition In Portable Document Format 2006

FOREWORD

It is with pleasure that we present this new edition of the Phi Kappa Tau song book. In order to encourage group singing in harmony, many of these songs have been arranged in four parts for men’s voices.

It was impossible to reprint all of the songs included in the fi ve other editions, and the Editor has endeavored to keep those which are sung most frequently. There are also several new ones included in this edition.

In the back of the book will be found a representative group of some of the most popular songs of sixteen different sororities. These songs have been especially arranged for men’s voices in four- part harmony to be used for serenades, exchange dinners, and so on. The Editor wishes to express its appreciation to the sororities represented for granting permission to publish these songs.

We also acknowledge with thanks the permissions granted by the various publishers of well-known songs to which fraternity words have been added.

COMPUTER EDITION FORWARD

Today’s modern publishing world allows documents like this one to live on in electronic form. This is done through scanning in original pages then cleaning up the images with a professional graphics program. This is an electronic copy of the Sixth edition. The song book was purchased by me at the Phi Kappa Tau National Convention in 1976 at Tantara Lake Resort in Missouri. The two signatures on the previous page are of Roland Maxwell National President, 1934-1959 and that of Taylor A. Boradale at that time our last living founder.

This gift of song is dedicated to all of my fellow Phi Kappa Tau brothers. My hope is that this document will live on for many years and give enjoyment to all those members of Phi Kappa Tau now and in the future.

INDEX

THE PHI KAPPA TAU CREED

Phi Kappa Tau, by admitting me to membership, has conferred upon me a mark of distinction in which I take just pride. I believe in the spirit of brotherhood for which it stands. I shall strive to attain its ideals, and by so doing to bring to it honor and credit. I shall be loyal to my college and my chapter and shall keep strong my ties to them that I may ever retain the spirit of youth. I shall be a good and loyal citizen. I shall try always to discharge the obligation to others which arises from the fact that I am a fraternity man.
