Bridge Design 1Bridge Design 1

Design 1Design 1

Advantages

1. Very simplistic stair and walkway

arrangement

Disadvantages

1. Necessary to build two of these designs to solve the problem

2. Costly

3. Time consuming

Bridge Design 2Bridge Design 2

Design 2Design 2

Advantages

1. Single bridge that would cross both roads

2. Aesthetically pleasing

3. Cost effective

Disadvantages

1. Length must be greater than that of Design 1

Bridge Cover OptionsBridge Cover Options

Clear glass or Plexiglas– Campus can be seen in the background– There will be some additional maintenance to

keep it clean

Chain link fence – Prevents objects from falling on to the roadway

but will not offer much protection

If Bridge is Covered…If Bridge is Covered…

Ventilation System– Provide air circulation– Passing smokers will likely be inclined to stop

under the covered bridge during poor weather.

Drainage system – Prevent standing rainwater.– Tied into the sewer system to prevent any

pollution.
