Effective Email Management Practices

AKA: “Zero Inbox”

A premise:

View your email inbox as a temporary holding place where you need to start

processing emails.

Only unread or unprocessed Emails are left

in the Inbox.

(Processed Emails go elsewhere)

In other words…

Each time you process your email, the goal should be to

have your inbox count at zero.

Psychologically it is better to know that you have managed your email and that you only

have to process whatever is in your inbox.

Perhaps a first step can be to eliminate the need for the scrollbar

SOAR Analysis of OAQ, DC

SOAR:

Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations and Results

What an organization is doing really well. This can take into account any beneficial asset or significant accomplishment.

S = Strengths:

What latent or hidden gems can be exploited? What circumstances could improve needs or requirements? What weaknesses could be reframed into an opportunity for the benefit of the whole?

O = Opportunities:

Ultimately, what is the potential? What is it that the organization, group or office can (and should) be known for?

A = Aspirations:

The tangible, quantifiable items that will illustrate that certain goals and aspirations have been achieved.

R = Results:

Join In Pairs 10 minutes to interview your partner

(20 minutes total) SOAR: In reporting out we want to learn…

From your perspective, what has been a STRENGTH of OAQ and what are the OPPORTUNITIES to build on those strengths and grow the relationships.

From a broad perspective, what might the office ASPIRE to and what RESULTS might OAQ realize as a result?
