Behavioral problems? Stuck in a rut? Not sure where to turn for help? The Horses 1, 2, 3 Riding System, designed by Equine Education Specialist Evon Montgomery, is a powerful education product for any type of rider and horse regardless of breed, discipline, age, or expe-rience. While beginners love to have a plan with which they can grow, intermediate equestrians see the value in having a calm horse while developing their own confidence. Advanced individuals can use the skill cards and exer-cises with their students and add it to their lesson program.

Located at Saxony Farm in Saxonburg, PA, Equine Edu-cation Specialist Evon hosts clinics, events, and horse camps designed to teach people how to better understand their horses as a whole. Evon begins with a Horse Ownership Weekend to give par-ticipants a well-rounded platform of foundational information. With a non-threatening, friendly ap-

proach, Evon shares the surprises about horse ownership, tack, barn structures, boarding decisions, routines for veterinarians, farriers, dentists, as well as what expenses are necessary as an owner. She educates further with controlled riding exercises that clarify focus, feel, cues, and techniques for both horse and rider with the guide of Horses 1, 2, 3. The DVDs, skill cards, and cone system teach exercises that are necessary in daily horse handling and skills that transfer to horse show maneuvers with advanced practice.

In 2015, Evon will be at the Horse World Expo at both the Maryland and Pennsylvania locations. She also holds numer-ous clinics throughout the nation on a variety of topics, includ-ing confidence building and bombproofing for the event and dressage rider, obstacle training, western dressage, rider biome-chanics, and horse camps. Jan Huffman is a John Lyons Certified horse trainer. He is a professional horse

trainer providing his customers with safe, responsive, controllable horses.

“Jan trained my 10 year old Standardbred driving horse to ride. This was accomplished with patience, kindness and firmness. Equally important, Jan restored my faith in my ability and trust in my horse. I will be forever grateful to him.” M. Grashof, PA

“I wonder how many people think hard about the kind of person they hire as a trainer? They’re entrusting their life of their horse as well as their own to that trainer. Jan is as trustworthy as they come; he takes his work seriously and works very hard every day. I think you should add another word to Jan’s jacket that says ‘Superior’ Certified John Lyons Trainer. I’m certain he is one of the best.”
