SECTION A

Tests pupils’ ability to write sentences. Pupils will be given a picture and they have to construct five sentences.

*Pupils need to construct a variety of sentences namely:

Simple sentencee.g The boys are playing football.

Compound sentencee.g The boys and their friends are playing

football in the field.

Complex Sentencee.g James, who is wearing jersey number seven, is playing football in the field.

Pupils must not make assumptions. Write

sentences on what is seen in the picture. If they

want to use names, make sure that they describe

clearly the person that they are writing about.

Example:

Abu, is sitting with his friends. (WRONG)

Abu, who is the tallest among the boys, is

holding a hockey stick. (CORRECT)

After completing all the five sentences, make sure pupils check the grammar, punctuation and spelling. They MUST write clearly so as not to confuse the examiner.

* Pupils MUST NOT relate themselves to the

picture.

My mother can use the free gift to keep her expensive Channel lipstick . I hope my mother will be happy with my choice.
