***Education Requirements***

• After high school, you need 4 years of undergraduate courses at a college or university. This will give you a bachelor degree.

• After completing college, you will need to attend 4 years of Medical School. This will give you your Masters Degree.

• After this you are generally a doctor. But you will need 3 years of residency or internship.

• That all equals to 11 years after high school.

JOB DESCRIPTION• Pediatricians provide care from birth to early

adulthood, and are concerned with the health of infants, children and teenagers. They specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of ailments specifically for young people and they also track their patients’ growth to adulthood.

• Pediatricians communicate with nurses and other healthcare providers, and refer patients to medical specialists when necessary.

• Pediatricians plan and implement healthcare programs, as well as prepare reports for other organizations.

INCOME

• Residency= 30,000 - 45,000/year

• Starting after Residency= 100,000-120,000

• Average Pediatrician= 140,000

• Range= 40,000(part time)- 300,000 (very busy)
