“What should we do today?” one PAW Pal said to another.
“How about we play PAW Pal
Café!” “That sounds like a great idea!” the other PAW Pals agreed. “The first thing we are going to do when we play PAW Pal Café is make some delicious cookies!!”
said another PAW Pal. “And we can all be the chefs when we work together, taking turns, to make the cookies.

First, we need to put on our
chef hats , our aprons ,
wash our hands , and go into the kitchen to make and bake our cookies.” said the Head Chef. In the kitchen, the PAW Pals will line up at the counter and take turns pouring in the ingredients and stirring
after each one. Then they will take turns scooping out the cookie dough and putting it on the baking sheet

. After all of the cookie dough has been scooped onto the baking sheet, Ms. Kay will put the cookies in the hot oven
to bake.
“I know, said one of the PAW Pals, who was very good at giving play suggestions, let’s
play PAW Pal Café while the cookies are cooking!” “Great idea!” cheered the rest of the PAW Pals.

So the PAW Pals negotiated with one another to determine who would be the “servers”
at the Café and who
would be the “eaters” first. The “server” is the person(s) who (1) welcomes the “eaters” to the Café, (2) takes their order, and (3) brings them their food. The “eaters” are the people who (1) sit down at the table at the Café, (2) read the menu and order their food,

(3) eat their food, and (4) then pay for the food and thank their server before getting up to leave the Café.
What kinds of food should we pretend to serve at PAW Pal Café??

When you are the “server” you could say, “Hello, welcome to PAW Pal Café, may I take your order?” If you are “eater”
, then you can place an order and tell the “server”, “I would like chicken nuggets, fries, and water please”. The
server will bring you your food and you can say, “thank you”. At the end of the meal, the “server” will bring you your

check and thank you for coming to PAW Pal Café. After you play through PAW Pal Café once, you can switch roles and play again with a new “server”
and a new “eater” . Remember to use your PLAY CLUES so that everyone plays together and has a fun time!!
