Work Estimation Functions – Business Problem
More than 80% of maintenance work can be one-off’s
This work requires some degree of estimation and planning.
Simple and quick estimation and planning processes are essential
Page 1807/04/23
Work Estimation Functions – Current Solution
Work estimation requires the use of multiple panels and is time consuming
Its not easy to find out who created a request
Its difficult to ‘route’ the request to the right Maintenance Planner
The Requester often does not know who should do the work
It impossible to allow the Requester to suggest when the work should be carried out and still allow the Planner to set the actual work dates
Electronic request approval could be easier
Its impossible to know how effective the planning process is

Work Estimation – Business Benefits
Reduced the time and effort required to estimate the requirements of a work request
As the process becomes easier, planners have more time to estimate the requirements of more jobs, thus offering the chance to make greater savings
Creating new requests is now quicker and can be routed to the right people with more accuracy
Better analysis is available to improve the estimation process and performance

Maintenance Technician Workbench – Business Problem
Certain roles within the organization, such as Maintenance Technicians, need access to a wide range of EAM functions
Users primary role is not system based
Operational demands require fast access to information
Processes require Technicians to feed back important information – but workload dictates that little time is available for this
Maintenance Technician Workbench – Business Solution Provide a Portal which is specifically targeted at the role of the
Technician and offers:
– Focussed functionality
– Fast access to information
– Easy of use
– Fast feedback of important maintenance related information

MTW – Business Benefits
Saves time by providing a single access point for all key functions
Reduces education requirements
Improved acceptance of the system by making processes easier and faster
Increases the likelihood of collecting good maintenance facts

Analyzing scheduling problems – Business Problem
Scheduling of preventive maintenance work is highly complex:
– Variables include calendar and meter based scheduling, competing meters, forecasting, service suppression…
– Legal / statutory and industry requirements
How does an organization know that the right scheduled maintenance is being proposed at the right time?
Confirming scheduling issues or accuracy is hugely time-consuming today!
Analyzing scheduling problems – Business Solution Provide a ‘human readable’ output explaining how the Lawson M3 Service
Requirements Planning (SRP) engine has come to its conclusions
– 145 validation points
– Identifies the severity with a ‘Diagnostics’ or ‘Error’ indicator
Page 4304/07/23
3. Analyzing Scheduling Problems Significantly reduced
time when analyzing scheduling issues
Reduced chance of a critical or statutory scheduled inspection being missed
Introduces the use of “concept logs” into Lawson EAM

Estimated downtime processing – Business Problem
The current Lawson EAM solution identifies the labor duration of the maintenance work – but not the ‘total’ equipment downtime required
Total downtime often includes pre-job cooling time, cleaning time and often post job reheating or preparation time
It is therefore difficult to plan work into production or operation windows without knowing this total downtime requirement
4. Estimated downtime processing – Business Solution Provide a ‘new field called ‘Estimated Downtime’ in various functions
Allow the new functions (MOS195/197) to search by Estimated Downtime

Estimated Downtime Processing – Business Benefits
Maintenance Planners can now easily estimate the total duration of a maintenance job – not just the labor portion
Lawson customers can now more confidently plan maintenance work into operation windows with the knowledge that the work can be finished on time
Helps the maintenance department return the assets back to the operations team at the scheduled time, helping to avoid delays to their customers
